What does Amazon infringement mean? What should I do?

Some Amazon sellers have been operating their own Amazon stores diligently, but one day they received an infringement reminder from Amazon, and the sellers didn’t know what to do. I will tell you below, but you still have to understand what Amazon infringement means first.

On the Amazon platform, infringement is a very serious violation, such as directly using other sellers' pictures, publishing other people's trademarks, etc. Amazon's measures for dealing with infringements are generally quite severe, ranging from removing products from the shelves to directly closing down the business. Some of these infringements come from Amazon's self-inspection, some from sellers' complaints, and some from crackdowns by professional anti-counterfeiting law firms.

As long as your product is suspected of infringement, it will be difficult for it to survive on the platform. There is always a way to make your infringing product disappear. Therefore, it is very important for sellers to carry out preliminary anti-infringement operations before the product goes online.

what to do?

Don't be anxious, let's first check whether it is our fault. If not, you can file an appeal. I can't guarantee that it will be approved, but Amazon's style of doing things is not unreasonable.

Several pitfalls that are easy to fall into when infringing copyright:

1. Product selection period

If you don’t check/find the product, you assume it’s not infringing;

Only trademarks were checked, and copyrights and patents were ignored;

They modify the clothes of big brands and sell them, thinking that they are not infringing on copyright;

Products with unique shapes are sold directly, thinking that they are not infringing on copyright.

2. Stocking stage

The purchased packaging is printed with someone else’s logo;

The purchased packaging is someone else's patented design.

3. Listing stage

Directly sharing other people’s brand listings without authorization;

Accidentally wrote someone else’s brand name in the listing title;

The listing image contains someone else’s brand icon/text;

The video in Listing uses copyrighted music.

4. Focus

Most sellers easily overlook infringements in the listing (product details page). While paying attention to whether the product infringes, you need to pay more attention to checking the listing. In addition, counterfeiting is a more serious infringement. If your product is very similar to a well-known brand in shape (design/logo), it is a counterfeit.

Amazon will not tolerate infringement by sellers, so when you receive an email alert from Amazon about infringement, you must take it seriously at the first time, find out the cause, and correct it. If you check the store and find no problem, then file an appeal.
