How to stop selling products on Amazon? Steps

Whether you are an experienced seller or a new seller on Taobao, you may encounter some problems when operating a store. Everyone has different ways to solve the problems. Today, let’s talk about how Amazon stops selling products.

1: Log in to Amazon backend, move the mouse to the [Inventory] position, a list will appear, find and click [Manage Inventory] in the list

2: Go to the [Manage Inventory] page, click [Stop Sale], and click the leftmost square of the product you want to stop selling.

3: Click [Apply to 1 selected item]. A list will appear. Find and click [Discontinued item].

4: A reminder appears [You have chosen to stop selling 1 product. Do you want to continue?], click [Yes, continue].

What are the disadvantages of having discontinued listings copied?

First, if the seller commits fraud or sells products of poor quality, it will affect the brand image to a certain extent;

Second, a previously silent listing is copied, which increases the chances of your brand being exposed in the seller group. Copy selling is contagious. If your product A is copied, and the original owner does not respond, it also increases the chances of other products in your store being copied.

Third, because more sellers are paying attention to your store, the products you sell may become the research subjects of other sellers, increasing the intensity of competition for the products you sell.

Products that have been discontinued are still available in the inventory list.

The impact of deleting a product that is no longer for sale is not significant. However, according to the principle of “letting go”, if the inventory list in the store backend is too messy, it will ultimately affect your ability to more accurately grasp the product and inventory status in the store. This is secondary.

More importantly, I found a product in the inventory list of my colleague's store that was no longer sold due to infringement. The inventory was zero, but the listing still existed. This is a big problem.

Many sellers often think that they can just remove a listing after it infringes upon the rights, but they do not know that when a listing is removed, it is only invisible on the front desk, and the information of this product still exists in the Amazon system database. If it is screened by the system, then this listing may trigger a second infringement.

I believe that sellers with a little operational experience know that, generally speaking, if a store infringes three times within a certain period of time (about half a year), the account will be removed from sales privileges when the third infringement occurs. Therefore, for listings that have been recognized, complained by the rights holder, or have been determined by the system to be infringing, we must delete the listings as soon as possible.

For products that have been online for three or four months but have slow sales, clearing inventory may be your best option. On the one hand, it can avoid the waste of storage costs, and on the other hand, it can also free up more energy to operate other key products.
