Hello, fellow villagers. I am the village chief. The WeChat Store APP is now online. WeChat finally has its first real store opening tool. Previously, WeChat had taken a lot of common sense and detours in the matter of opening stores and selling goods. The main reason is that all internal departments want to do it, but they cannot unify and traffic resources cannot be used together. For example, official accounts have tools for selling goods, WeChat has small shops selling goods, video accounts have video account shops, and some departments have their own shopping malls. Just like when Tencent made a lot of video apps, Weishi, Xiafan, Yoyo, etc., but they failed in the end because they were too messy. It was not until all the focus was placed on the video account that everyone had a unified impression of Tencent's short video business. 1. Mainly serving WeChat’s own productsThis time, the launch of the WeChat Store APP is mainly to facilitate management for merchants. WeChat Stores mainly serve WeChat’s own peripherals, including official accounts, video accounts, and mini-programs. The main battlefield is the video account, just like Douyin’s Doudian. The independence of the WeChat Store APP also shows WeChat’s determination in video account e-commerce. 2. Platforms such as Youzan and WeimengWhen WeChat Mini Stores were launched, platforms like Youzan and Weimao were already trembling with fear. But I didn’t expect that the small store was not that good, whether it was iteration or functionality, it didn’t feel very good. And this time, after integration. It can be seen that WeChat has invested a lot of effort and determination. From the merger to the launch of the APP to the various entry review requirements, it was relatively fast. It can also be seen that WeChat has tasted the sweetness from the video account e-commerce transactions. The ensuing pressure will be put on Youzan, Weimeng, Weidian, and Qunjielong, which provide tools for opening stores and selling goods in the private domain. 1. The previous case of Magic Chopsticks Technology is a case in point. After Kuaishou launched its own sales system, Magic Chopsticks’ business suffered a great impact. The shift from tools to product supply chain has a significant impact on the business. 2. If WeChat requires the provision of sales transaction services within the mini program in the future, WeChat Stores must be used. That would be a huge blow to various store opening tools such as Youzan. 3. Now we can see that both Youzan and Weidian are expanding their offline membership card, chain store and other businesses. The reason is very simple. You can restrict it on WeChat, but offline transactions are not restricted by WeChat. Users can top up their accounts, use other methods, or even use cash, including Alipay. 3. Opportunities for the system to automatically recommend shopping mallsI think there will be a great opportunity when WeChat stores go online. It’s not about selling the goods yourself, but the WeChat shelf e-commerce opportunities that may exist in the future. It means that merchants open more stores and stock more goods. Users can find it through search, system recommendation, or the mall’s homepage. Just like the Douyin Mall, there are great value purchases, low-price flash sales, product plazas, and so on. Since WeChat wants to do e-commerce well, will there be WeChat Mall and WeChat Plaza in the future? Including recommendations from various channels such as Search and Watch. Just like now, WeChat has a shopping menu in the live broadcast entrance of Discovery. I think there will probably be recommendations for pure merchandise or comprehensive shopping malls later on. Therefore, everyone should seize this wave of traffic or pay attention to this trend. 4. Regarding opening a store, there are still opportunities to sell goodsAlthough there are leading players such as Youzan, WeMall, and Weidian, the latter is almost monopolizing WeChat stores. Personally, I still think there is still opportunity in providing tools for opening stores and selling goods. 1. Selling goods is a long-term business Buying and selling transactions have existed since ancient times. It’s just that the medium and channels of transactions have changed. Whether providing offline transaction tools or online, everyone still needs to sell goods. 2. Any product has different audiences It costs thousands or tens of thousands of dollars to open a store or make a mini program on Youzan or Weimeng, so some people want to spend 599 or 899 to buy one. If Youzan and Weimeng need to earn 100 million yuan a year to survive, then there are teams that can survive with just 10 million yuan in annual revenue. 3. Differences in flexibility For Youzan and Weimao, they will definitely give priority to meeting the needs of large customers, and small customers will naturally come second. As for WeChat, it is a universal product and it is difficult to meet differentiated demands. Therefore, for small companies, there is more room for flexible configuration. A friend of mine is also working on tools to sell goods, mainly in the agency and distribution business, and has an annual income of nearly 10 million. Don’t ever think that the mountains ahead are insurmountable. There are always opportunities for entrepreneurship, it’s just a matter of the scale of your business. |
