8,500 followers on the public account, 1 million in cash

The fewer fans a public account has, the more money it makes? An accurate fan group is more important than the number of fans. As an operator, the author of this article uses his actual operational experience to explain to readers the role of the number of fans, payment volume, private domain conversion, etc. on fan monetization. Recommended for friends who are interested in WeChat public account operations.

The fewer fans a public account has, the more money it makes.

When I put forward this point of view, most people will oppose it because it goes against common sense.

But only those who have actually put it into practice know that the number of fans does not equal monetization power.

Today I would like to share my practical experience with you and encourage you to start writing.

1. It is normal for a public account to increase followers slowly

The public account has long passed its wild growth period, so for many creators now, the slow increase in followers is a very painful thing.

Compared with new media platforms such as Toutiao, Douyin, and Kuaishou, it is almost impossible for public account writers to gain hundreds or thousands of followers in a day, even for some accounts that are said to have more than 10,000 readers.

First of all, don’t be in a hurry to deny yourself. In fact, most people are the same. You are not the only one who is slow to gain followers.

Secondly, writing for a public account is more challenging than shooting Douyin or Kuaishou. Douyin may produce a hit, but a public account almost never does.

2. Having many fans does not mean strong monetization ability

I have another corporate public account, which currently has 100,000 followers, but the number of readers of each post is about the same as that of my current account.

Many people think that the more fans the better. In fact, this is not the case for ordinary people who write public accounts.

Now the number of readings of public accounts continues to decline, and it is already very good if the number of readings of general accounts can be maintained at 1%.

Compared with the number of fans, I pay more attention to the number of readers; and compared with the number of readers, I pay more attention to the number of payments.

An account that gains followers quickly will also lose followers quickly, because it demands quick feedback. As long as you post an article that it deems inappropriate, it will unfollow you, let alone posting advertisements.

3. The more accurate the fans are, the more valuable they are

If your official account gains 100 or 200 followers every day, but few users pay for your services, then these fans are worthless.

They all come to watch the fun, because they pay attention to you because they think you write well, but they will quickly unfollow you later.

This is of course related to the content and channels of your writing. Generally speaking, the broader the content of your writing, the easier it is to increase fans, or the broader the channel, the more fans you will have. For example, some people have invested in wifi fans, paper towel fans, charging fans, photo fans, etc.

But these fans are very purposeful, forget quickly, and have a low willingness to pay.

So I suggest that you only attract accurate fans, even if there is only one accurate fan following you every day.

The first is accurate channels . For example, instead of posting your own articles everywhere, it is better to attract traffic through peer groups, friend circles, vertical websites, mutual promotion and other channels.

The second is that the content is accurate . Don’t write cool articles on the official account. Writing cool articles will bring traffic but no money or advertising fees.

You need to write vertical articles, such as e-commerce, Taobao, Douyin, operational knowledge, cross-border, women, parenting, outdoor, etc., and write about what you are good at.

Things like Jack Ma returning to China, who was arrested, etc., have nothing to do with you.

The third is precise service . If you write Douyin, you can provide Douyin courses, Douyin IP, Douyin traffic promotion and other monetization course services. Don’t do public account writing training or Taobao store opening training.

From your personality to the content to the service, everything must be consistent and professional, so you can realize monetization more quickly.

4. 1,000 fans equals 1 million

If you haven’t written a public account or shot a Douyin video yet, then I can tell you clearly that if you have 1,000 long-term fans, then you have the opportunity to cash in 1 million.

Of course, we don't brag or make empty promises.

This relies on 1,000 people to make 1 million, and different people have different ways of achieving it.

Some bloggers can earn 1 million yuan by just finding 1,000 people and having each of them pay 1,000 yuan per year.

Most bloggers need to find 1,000 people, each of whom pays 499 yuan per year, and continue to pay for four or five years, and they can cash in 1 million yuan.

Of course there are other ways. For example, I have met a blogger who only charges 100 bosses a year, charging each of them 9,800 yuan, and the salary will be terminated when the number of bosses is full.

5. 8,500 fans, 1 million in cash

I have a blogger friend who has been running a public account for two years. He has written 600 articles and has a total of 8,500 followers.

I believe that most people who write public accounts cannot persist because they have too few followers.

But among these 8,500 fans, more than 3,000 people have paid him, earning more than 1 million.

Some paid 99 yuan for a consultation, some paid 39.9 yuan to buy information, some paid 365 yuan to buy a one-year membership, and some paid 3999 yuan to follow the project.

It seems that there are very few fans, but almost all those who follow or add WeChat are paying.

Similarly, many people are curious about how much money the village chief makes by writing articles that only have a few hundred or a thousand views.

To be honest, I don’t have many fans, but the accumulated revenue is better than that of many ordinary people working, and I still write in my spare time every day.

6. Users diverted to private domains are more valuable

From the public domain to the official account and then to the WeChat account, the traffic is declining at every step.

But the monetization ability is increasing at each step.

If a user is willing to pay 10 yuan in the public domain, he is willing to spend 100 yuan on the official account, and 1,000 yuan on the WeChat account.

So everyone, if you plan to write.

What you should think about is not how to increase your public account to 50,000 or 100,000 followers, but how to get 5,000 or 10,000 fans to successfully add your WeChat, and get 3,000 or 5,000 of them to pay you 100 or 500 yuan to buy your products.

Finally, I hope again that the new bloggers who are currently writing public accounts will forget about the number of fans.

Choosing vertical content areas, outputting valuable content, and providing vertical monetization services are the core of public account monetization.

Otherwise, you will be anxious about increasing your followers every day instead of providing valuable content and services to your existing fans.
