Amazon India has more than 1.1 million sellers

Manish Tiwary, regional manager of Amazon India's consumer business, revealed that Amazon India currently has more than 1.1 million sellers and millions of consumers, and these sellers list tens of thousands of products under dozens of categories.

In addition, Amazon already has 43 million cubic feet of storage infrastructure in India, which is widely distributed in 15 states. In terms of geographical distribution, more than 80% of Amazon India’s consumers, 60% of its orders, and 60% of its sellers come from second- and third-tier cities in India.

Manish Tiwary said Amazon India aims to digitize 10 million small businesses across the country, create 2 million direct and indirect jobs, and achieve cumulative exports of $20 billion by 2025.

According to the company, it currently only takes six minutes for Amazon sellers to register for the company's global sales program. After registration, the seller's listing will be displayed in the target country/region, and Amazon will take care of all logistics.

Manish Tiwary also pointed out that over the past few decades, Amazon has successfully driven digital development in the country and supported innovation among small retailers.

In addition, India’s e-commerce industry is already valued at $70 billion, and according to a NASSCOM report, it will be worth close to $350 billion by 2030, all of which will be driven by omnichannel.

It is worth mentioning that Amazon India has previously announced that it will provide grants to businesses in its Delivery Service Partner Program (DSP). This grant will help women, people with disabilities and people in the LGBTQIA+ community build online businesses, and businesses with no logistics experience can also apply for grants and participate in the program.

At the same time, Amazon also plans to invest nearly $7 million worldwide to support hundreds of entrepreneurs through various grant programs.

It is understood that Amazon will provide companies with delivery technology and practical training opportunities through the DSP program to help them start their delivery business. It will also provide them with exclusive support such as wage management, operational technology, safe delivery, etc., allowing them to start their business with lower startup costs without any experience.
