eBay UK launches performance protection for sellers

eBay UK announced that due to the severe weather conditions caused by Storm Babet, deliveries in parts of Scotland were disrupted. For this reason, eBay will automatically protect sellers' performance standards between October 19 and 26 in 2023.

eBay said that for merchants, late delivery rates will be removed from affected orders between October 19 and Thursday, October 26. In addition, the platform will also remove any negative and neutral feedback related to or resulting from delays or non-delivery.

It is important to note that eBay recommends that sellers use a carrier service that offers tracking, which can provide better protection for sellers and reduce requests for "where's my item" and "item not received." Uploading tracking information at the fulfillment center also allows buyers to see where their items are, making it easier for eBay to protect sellers.

Also, if a buyer opens an "Item Not Received" case, don't ignore it. It's important to respond as quickly as possible so eBay can get to the bottom of the issue for both the seller and the buyer.

Once a request is opened, the seller has 3 business days to resolve the issue. After this period, either the seller or the buyer can ask the platform to intervene.

Uploading tracking is the best way to avoid "Item Not Received" cases being opened. If the seller is located in the affected area, issues beyond the seller's control will not affect the seller's performance on eBay.

It is worth mentioning that eBay UK recently released guidelines on product listing migration and other guidance in order to attract sellers from the American second-hand e-commerce platform Poshmark to join.

The guide on product listing migration shows that eBay recommends that sellers export listing data from Poshmark through third-party service providers such as Ad-Lister and ChannelAdvisor and upload it to the eBay platform. For sellers with a large amount of inventory, using these tools can greatly simplify the listing process, saving more time and effort. In addition, eBay will provide a one-year 20% fee discount to Poshmark sellers who use Ad-Lister to list items on its platform.
