1. Finding customers and getting orders can be said to be the core tasks of foreign trade salesmen. Therefore, a foreign trade salesman needs to understand potential customer information and target markets, and constantly develop new customers and maintain old customers. At the same time, he also needs to be very familiar with product and industry information. Only by deeply understanding a product, industry and market can he take the initiative in business negotiations.

2. Negotiate with customers, communicate and contact with customers constantly, such as sending and receiving emails and faxes from foreign businessmen, sending product information to customers, etc. If customers visit, they also need to be received.

3. Publish foreign trade product information and publish products on international trade platforms to attract customer inquiries. If there is an independent foreign trade website, the salesperson also needs to maintain the website and other related information.

4. Make product quotations for inquiries from foreign buyers. In the process, you need to understand the basic information of the customer, including whether it is an end customer, annual purchasing capacity, consumption area, as well as the purpose, specifications and quality requirements of the product, whether the company can produce it, etc. Foreign trade salesmen need to be familiar with some foreign trade management software with corresponding functions.

5. Handle foreign merchants' requests for sample delivery and proofing, and track the production, transportation and receipt feedback of samples.

6. Collect and organize customer information, for example, use Excel spreadsheets to classify customers and focus on tracking high-quality customers.

7. After all the foreign exchange is collected, the relevant information will be sorted out and the relevant documents will be reported to the financial department in time to the foreign exchange bureau and tax bureau for verification and tax refund. Attention will also be paid to the after-sales service for foreign merchants and follow-up will be carried out to establish a long-term and reliable partnership.
