How to open a local store on Shopee in Thailand? Introduction to the registration process

Merchants who want to enter Shopee can open cross-border stores or local stores. For local stores, they need to register a local company, and their ID card and phone number must also be local. So how do you open a local store on Shopee in Thailand?

1. Shopee Thailand local store registration process

The biggest difference between Shopee seller registration and Lazada is that Shopee’s buyer account and seller account are universal, and you can use the buyer account to log in directly to the seller center.

Shopee can be registered with a local phone number or directly with a Google and Facebook account. Fill in the phone number and enter the verification code received to directly enter the seller's backend.

2. Set the store's delivery address and return address

Go to Settings in the lower left corner and select My Address

You can add multiple addresses, and you need to set which address is the delivery address and the return address. Pickup means door-to-door collection.

2. Set up logistics method

Shopee has cooperated with many logistics companies. You can open the logistics company you need to use in my shipping under settings.

Different logistics companies have different size and weight restrictions for products. Click the small arrow to the right of the logistics company's name to see the details.

With the address and logistics method, you can start uploading products. The uploaded products can be seen and purchased by Shopee buyers, and there is no need to bind a bank card. However, if you do not bind a bank card, you cannot withdraw the payment.

2. Payment collection from local stores

Because you have opened a local store, the platform will pay you according to the local repayment requirements, that is, you just need to directly bind your local bank card. If you do not have a local bank card, there are also special repayment service providers in the market. You can find them when you need it. However, they will not help you withdraw the money for free. They also charge a certain handling fee. Another thing is security. Generally speaking, you cannot operate it directly by yourself. If you meet the wrong person, they may just run away with the money.

The payment is returned very quickly. As long as the consumer confirms receipt of the goods, the money will be transferred to your account, and you can withdraw it directly without waiting for the funds to be allocated. Therefore, in terms of payment, local stores have an advantage over cross-border stores. Cross-border stores can pay back the money themselves, with a handling fee of 1%, and the payment time is relatively slow. Local stores pay back the money quickly, and you can get the money as soon as the goods arrive, with a handling fee of 2%.

The above is the registration process for Shopee's local stores in Thailand. If merchants want to register a local store in Thailand, they can just follow the above process.
