What is the return process for Amazon self-fulfillment?

If a buyer requests a return, Amazon will send an email to the merchant explaining the buyer's reason for the return. If the buyer's request does not meet our return policy, we will send an email to notify you. You can take action on return requests in the Manage Seller-Fulfilled Returns tool, including viewing order-level refunds issued to buyers.

To ensure a consistent experience for customers, you must offer a return policy that is at least as good as Amazon's return policy. Professional sellers are automatically enrolled in the Amazon Prepaid Return Label program. As part of the Prepaid Return Label program, Amazon will automatically approve returns in the United States that comply with Amazon's return policy. We will provide prepaid return labels to customers on your behalf through Buy Shipping Services.

Individual sellers can choose to enroll in the Amazon Prepaid Return Label program.

We only send you return requests that exceed Amazon's policy or are exempt from prepaid returns. If the buyer requests a return, Amazon will email you to explain the buyer's reason for the return. If the buyer's request does not meet our return policy, we will send you an email to notify you.

Note: We recommend that you respond to return requests that are not part of the "Prepaid Return Label" program within 24 hours. You are required to refund the return within two business days of receiving the return. If you do not request a refund, Amazon will refund the buyer on your behalf and deduct the corresponding amount from your seller account.

You can take action on return requests, including viewing order-level refunds issued to buyers, in the Manage Seller-Fulfilled Returns tool. To download a list of returns and refunds for a specific time period, click the View Reports tab on the tool to access the Seller-Fulfilled Returns Report.

Note: After a refund is issued, it may take 3-5 days for the refund amount to be reflected in the buyer's payment method, depending on the payment method.
