How to pass Amazon category review? What are the tips?

In order to ensure product quality and enhance buyers' shopping experience, Amazon requires sellers to submit relevant information for separate review in some categories. Only after passing the review can sellers have the right to sell in such categories. The following content will introduce how to pass the Amazon category review.

1. First, the seller needs to determine whether their products need category review

(1) Make a judgment based on the product category page First, we can filter according to the categories listed in the previous article to determine the category to which the product belongs. If you are not sure, you can also refer to the categories listed on the official website to make a judgment.

(2) Store name position From the brand name position, you can also view product pages similar to yours on Amazon. If the brand name of the product appears above the product title, then the product category needs to be reviewed; conversely, if the store name appears below the title and there is a "by" in front of it, then no review is required.

(3) Check the follow-up selling button: Search for similar products on the front page of Amazon to see if you can follow the sale. If the detailed page of the similar products you searched does not have a follow-up selling button such as Sell on Amazon or Sell Yours, it means that the category in which this product is located needs to pass Amazon category review before it can be sold. Otherwise, no review is required.

2. Prepare the materials required for Amazon category review

(1) Authorized regular UPC code;

(2) Receipts, invoices, and packing lists: They must be valid within 90 days (validity dates vary by category) and contain the supplier’s address and contact information;

(3) Relevant certificates: CE certificate for electronics; FDA certificate for cosmetics and skin care products; nickel content certificate for jewelry;

(4) Corporate website: It must be a corporate website with a first-level domain name. It should be noted that special product categories need to be sent to Amazon for testing.

How do sellers apply for category review?

Take the US site as an example. Log in to the US Amazon backend, enter "category" in the search bar, and enter the following page:

It is recommended that you read the requirements carefully first so that your category review can be passed more smoothly.

After reading the above requirements, click "request approval" below to officially start the application.

After submitting your application, Amazon will send an email to your registered mailbox to inform you that your application has been received and will be responded to within 24 hours. In addition, a case for auto parts classification review will be generated in your backend. All you have to do is track and respond in time according to Amazon's requirements.
