WeChat + DeepSeek, several scenarios I can think of

WeChat + DeepSeek, several scenarios I can think of

There was another big news over the weekend——

WeChat search has officially entered grayscale testing to connect to DeepSeek.

In fact, it is nothing new for enterprises to access DeepSeek.

For example, domestic cloud computing giants (Huawei Cloud/Tencent Cloud/Alibaba Cloud/Baidu Smart Cloud, etc.), Internet office giants (DingTalk/Feishu, etc.), mobile phones or automobiles and other terminal equipment giants (Lenovo/BYD, etc.) have all connected to DeepSeek.

So, why can WeChat + DeepSeek create such a big stir?

01 Why is WeChat so anticipated?

Since its launch in 2011, WeChat has had many iterations of features, all of which make people feel quite "out of the circle" -

for example:

  • The voice function launched in 2011 has made text no longer the only way to socialize, allowing middle-aged and elderly users to quickly integrate into the era of mobile Internet;
  • The Moments app launched in 2012 expanded social interaction from “peer-to-peer” to “circle-based”, successfully challenging the position of Weibo.
  • The public account launched in 2012 broke the monopoly of traditional media, ushered in a new era of self-media, and realized that "even the smallest individual can have his own brand";
  • The Spring Festival red envelope launched in 2014 was jokingly called a sneak attack on Alipay, and WeChat Pay has since quickly taken over the market;
  • The mini-programs launched in 2017 challenged the App ecosystem with their advantages of “no need to download, use and go” and built Tencent’s own traffic distribution system (for example, Pinduoduo also relied on WeChat mini-programs to accumulate users in the early days);
  • The video account launched in 2019 has maintained its basic market share in the face of challenges from Douyin and is regarded as "the hope of the whole village."

Even the recent launch of the “Send Gifts” feature on WeChat has caused a frenzy in the capital market, with everyone eagerly looking forward to WeChat creating another phenomenal social feature.

WeChat + DeepSeek does have its unique and irreplaceable data advantages:

Platforms such as Alibaba and Meituan provide "e-commerce behavior data", while WeChat has a unique set of "social behavior data".

Social behavior data is more dynamic and scenario-scalable.

The so-called dynamics means that it is changing all the time.

E-commerce behavior only occurs at the specific time of purchase, while social behavior can occur at any time.

The so-called scene scalability means that there are many possibilities for monetization.

E-commerce data mainly revolves around shopping behavior, and its application scenarios are relatively fixed; however, social data can cover more scenarios. In addition to recommending products, it can also recommend travel, food, weddings, childcare services, insurance, etc.

Social interaction is the “origin” of demand.

WeChat is naturally closer to every aspect of daily life.

02 Several scenarios of WeChat + DeepSeek

The scenarios in which we use WeChat in our daily lives are roughly: chatting, checking Moments, reading public accounts, and using mini-programs.

Each scenario may be associated with DeepSeek:

PS: Although only WeChat search has been connected to DeepSeek at present, assuming that WeChat will be fully connected to DeepSeek in the future, what new scenarios will there be?

1. Chat (Private Chat)

If DeepSeek is involved in corporate WeChat chats, we may feel less privacy violations.

After all, WeChat for Business is B2C.

Meaning has public attributes.

Let’s assume a scenario. When we interact with many real estate agents, can AI help us summarize automatically?

The scenario I imagined is...

An agent sent me a voice message saying, "This 89-square-meter two-bedroom apartment next to Chaoyang Park is for sale urgently at 8.2 million yuan." AI can help me automatically convert these scattered information into structured data.
Use tables to visualize and compare in all directions.
It can also remind me of vague expressions in the agent's rhetoric, such as "the metro is under planning (the project has not actually been approved)" and "scarce housing (8 units of the same type are on sale)".

Use AI to purify complex conversations.

2. Chat (Group Chat)

The scenario I imagined is...

Parents can set up to receive a daily class group report at 7 o'clock every night, which selects the key points that the teacher emphasizes on the blackboard, and can also jump to the activity registration link with one click, without having to spend time reading the idle chat in the group.
We can independently choose which groups AI monitors, which keywords to focus on/block, the time to send daily reports, etc., to improve the granularity of AI monitoring permissions.

Use AI to improve the efficiency of group chats.

3. Check Moments

If I want to know where people in my circle of friends are traveling recently——

AI will automatically summarize for me, for example, many people have visited Harbin recently, what are the reviews, and what are the recommended attractions and food. By the way, it also includes the air ticket and hotel applets for me to quickly check the ticket prices.

In my daily life, AI may also help me——

  • Identify the most frequently interacted friends’ dynamics;
  • Locate the circle of friends with the most likes;
  • Temporarily block colleagues who post company advertisements on their Moments.

Use AI to screen core circles of concern.

4. Read the official account

If there are a lot of articles today saying "WeChat has connected to DeepSeek", I don't want to read so much repetitive content——

AI can help me summarize how many articles in the public accounts I follow mention similar content and what the differences in opinions are.

This way I don’t have to keep scrolling through the same content in a long stream of information.

Use AI to simplify content.

5. Use mini-programs

Suppose I want to travel to Guizhou——

  • AI can help me find the reservation entrances for all the attractions in Guizhou, without me having to go through the mini-apps one by one;
  • AI can help me find the ticket booking entrance for all transportation in Guizhou. For example, it can clearly tell me which mini program I should use to buy tickets for a direct tourist bus.
  • AI can help me summarize all the items I need to bring, such as reminding me to buy water shoe covers and pushing product mini-apps to me.

Suppose I want to compare the social insurance for flexible workers in different cities——

  • AI can help me find government and enterprise service mini-programs in different cities and directly tell me how to purchase flexible personnel social security.
  • For example, Guangzhou uses the "Yue Sheng Shi" mini program, Beijing uses the "Beijing Tong" mini program, and Shenzhen uses the "i Shenzhen" mini program.
  • The latest policies are summarized in a table: minimum contributions, medical insurance benefits, special benefits, etc. in different cities.

I think the key point is that AI can help us achieve "cognitive reduction" - we no longer need to remember which mini-program to use to do something, just ask AI.

This may mean that WeChat’s entry power will be redistributed - from platform control to user-led, natural language as a service entry.

03 Conclusion

WeChat not only has a huge and close social chain, but also has a rich and diverse mini-program ecosystem.

Social media represents sticky data, and mini programs represent services + N types of monetization possibilities.

WeChat mini programs are a rare vehicle that can provide cross-scenario integrated services.

Each mini program will become an AI agent, connecting us to a larger smart life network.

With the accumulation of these small changes, perhaps we will enter an era of "unconscious intelligence" more quickly.

AI does not need to be deliberately invoked, but rather it is integrated into the fundamentals of our lives like air.
