I spent 2980 yuan but was ripped off? How should I choose a paid community?

This article mainly shares his views on big Vs running paid communities and related users, as well as suggestions for big Vs and users. On the one hand, it points out the shortcomings of low-priced communities and recommends big Vs to run high-priced communities or courses. On the other hand, it also reminds users to join relevant low-priced communities less frequently and accurately to increase value. The language of the article is easy to understand and the views are novel, which is inspiring to both big Vs and users.

Not long ago, a certain big V collected 2980 yuan for community membership and made a lot of money. It caused a lot of uproar in the community and IP circles, and the aftermath is still not over.

After members paid 2980, the group was quite lively in the first few days after joining, with new members sending out red envelopes and little assistants livening up the atmosphere.

But now there are no new people joining the group, no valuable information is shared, and the assistants have been replaced four or five times.

This member was initially attracted by the talent and influence of this big V and was looking forward to joining the community.

The price of 2980 is neither high nor low in the paid community field, but it is really outrageous to get any valuable service.

Because the village chief himself has been a paid member of 365 for a while, and he also spends more than tens of thousands of dollars every year to join various paid communities for learning, so based on his own experience, he gives some suggestions to bloggers and members respectively.

1. Big Vs should not create low-price communities

If you are currently a self-media blogger with a salary of three hundred thousand, five hundred thousand, or even one million or more, no matter what field you are in, I do not recommend that you start a low-priced paid community.

1. Regardless of the price, the community must deliver.

But in the eyes of different people, charging 365 or 3650 is the same, and the content delivered may be equated.

2. If you really have such a scale, it is a waste of time to create a low-price community. The key is that you will not appear in such a community.

In more than 90% of the low-priced paid communities, the so-called bloggers and group owners are inactive, and they are just a group of so-called assistants and small accounts.

But you have to understand, whether they pay 3650 or 365 members, who they are going for.

3. The delivery work of the low-price community is actually the same as that of 3650, or even better.

But the rate of return is very low. For example, if you charge 3650 per person or 365 per person, the cost of maintaining one is the same as the cost of maintaining ten.

Of course, the price should be determined based on your own influence and delivery value. Every blogger has his or her own standard for what is a low price.

But for a certain big V in the article, 2980 is really too low. If it becomes 29800, it can screen out a large number of people.

2. It is better to offer courses than to offer low-cost communities

The purpose of many so-called big Vs to create communities is not necessarily to make money, but to think they have so many loyal fans.

Then, by filtering by price, you can select a group of die-hard fans who will support you no matter what you do.

But most bloggers think too highly of all this. After users pay money, there is no die-hard loyalty, only judgment.

I pay a certain amount of money and I think I deserve a certain amount of service. If you fail to meet my expectations, I will criticize, complain and express my dissatisfaction.

In particular, many novice bloggers who create paid communities often overlook two issues:

1. Building a paid community is a complex delivery process, not just providing certain information.

Users have diverse understandings of paid communities, including consultation, guests, information, cases, projects, activities, etc.

2. Building a paid community is a continuous delivery process, not a one-time one. It can take as short as half a month or as long as one or two years.

So in this delivery cycle, paying users need to be satisfied every day, but in reality many bloggers cannot achieve such full delivery.

Therefore, if you want to make money, as a blogger, it is better to create paid courses instead of paid communities.

The delivery difficulty of paid courses is much lower than that of paid communities. A single course recording is aimed at tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of people, and the key is that it is a one-time thing.

As long as you improve the quality of the course content, users will pay for it and it will have a good reputation. They will be satisfied in a short period of time and ignore your other shortcomings.

3. It is better to build a high-priced community than a low-priced community

If you really plan to create a paid community, it is still recommended to create a high-priced community.

First of all, the price is determined by your content, services, and fans. If your fans are all online earners, then charging 799 or 999 would be considered a high price.

If the content you produce is all about interviewing various entrepreneurs, then charging 6,999 or 19,999 is reasonable.

Secondly, when running a high-priced community, you must do it yourself, because the reputation and renewal of a high-priced community are crucial.

It’s no problem if you lose three to five or even thirty to fifty members in your low-priced paid community, but if high-priced communities don’t renew their memberships, it will affect a large area.

Therefore, I am deeply involved in the operation of the community, such as corporate visits, member recommendations, project training, etc., and deeply involve everyone in it.

4. Pay for learning less but more often

I have previously written an article specifically about how to choose a paid community.

Many people are afraid of being ripped off and dare not pay anymore, but I want to tell you that more than 80% of paid communities fail in delivery.

But we still have to pay. The core is that the payment logic is different. I would like to give you two payment suggestions:

1. Few but many times

There is no need for ordinary people to pay more than 3,000, 5,000 or 10,000 yuan for paid communities.

You thought you made friends with a boss or director, but at most you added him on WeChat, and you chatted with him no more than 5 sentences a year, and there was zero business communication. It was a pure waste of money.

I would rather spend 5,000 yuan to join 10 or 20 low- to medium-priced paid communities to increase my opportunities for trial and error.

2. Vertical specialization

Don't spend money to join those large and comprehensive paid communities. They can't solve your desire to get rich.

To join a paid community, you need to be precise and have clear goals.

For example, if you want to learn how to make Tik Tok recently, just join the Tik Tok community.

If you want to learn how to write, join a paid writing community.

At the same time, you can join three or five paid communities on Douyin and make comparisons and screening. This is more valuable than spending fifty, six, seven, or ten or twenty thousand yuan to join some paid communities.

Finally, I would like to say that paid communities are just a form of delivery and monetization for bloggers. This form of monetization seems very violent and low-cost.

But in fact, this model is delivery-intensive, multi-demand, and long-cycle, and it is not as direct as selling courses, physical products, and advertising.
