Amazon's reserved inventory may be tied to a buyer's order while it is being transferred between different fulfillment centers or sent to a specific fulfillment center for other processing. Reserved inventory provides real-time data on the number of reserved items in inventory.

There are three situations for reserved inventory:

Customer Order: The inventory that the customer has ordered.

FC Transfer: Inventory is being transferred.

FC Processing: Inventory in process, Amazon is in the process of measuring size and weight, etc.

The quantity of products in reserved quantity will not be displayed on the front end.

Reserved inventory may be tied to a buyer's order while it is being transferred between different fulfillment centers or sent to a specific fulfillment center for other processing. Reserved inventory provides real-time data on the number of reserved items in inventory. Items may be in the reserved state for the following reasons:

Customer Orders – These items are used to fulfill customer orders.

Fulfillment Center Transfer – These products are being transferred between fulfillment centers to move inventory to a fulfillment center closer to customers. Products with the Fulfillment Center Transfer status are available for purchase. If the product is not immediately available for delivery, a future delivery date will be shown to customers. Inventory transfers typically take 1-5 days to complete.

Fulfillment Center Processing – These units are held at a fulfillment center for additional processing, such as verifying the unit's dimensions and weight or awaiting an investigation.

Note: If a fulfillment center is processing inventory for transfer to another fulfillment center, those units might show both the "FC Transfer" and "FC Processing" statuses for a brief period of time.
