What does the Amazon order status "pending" mean? Has the buyer paid?

In order to improve the user experience of the platform, Amazon has a unique logistics and warehousing service system, namely the FBA model. As long as the buyer pays successfully, the merchant will start preparing to ship the goods. What does the Amazon order status "waiting" mean?

1. Has the buyer paid for the pending Amazon order?

According to Amazon's official explanation, an order in the "Waiting" status may indicate a problem with the buyer's payment method or convenience store payment method. In some cases, Amazon's payment and order detail verification process may extend the order processing time to 21 days.

That is to say, the yellow "Waiting" sign means that the buyer has placed an order but has not yet completed the payment, so it is in the status of waiting for the buyer to pay. After the buyer pays, the goods will be prepared and delivered normally. This "Waiting" status is time-limited. If the buyer has not paid within 21 days, Amazon will cancel the order, which will not affect the seller's account.

2. What is the reason?

(1) Bank problems: Generally speaking, bank problems are more likely to occur, that is, problems with the buyer’s payment process. Amazon uses credit card payments without the merchant’s authorization, and payment failures cause the order to wait.

(2) Logistics issues: If logistics issues cause an order to wait, customers may purchase FBA products at different stores. However, if some of the products in the entire order are out of stock, the FBA products will be out of stock. If FBA ships the products in separate orders, the order will also be displayed as waiting.

(3) Buyer issues: If the product purchased by the buyer does not meet the FBA delivery conditions, Amazon will process the order as a waiting order, waiting for the buyer to complete the FBA delivery conditions and the product to be in stock so that the order can be shipped normally.

To sum up, the Amazon order status "pending" means that the buyer has purchased the product but has not paid yet. So the order is in the status of waiting for the buyer to pay.
