eBay UK will restore final value fees for electronics and home gardening categories

eBay announced that the fixed portion of the transaction fee for items in the electronics and home gardening categories on eBay UK that do not exceed £10 will be restored to £0.3 (30 pence) on February 5, 2023.

It is understood that after the launch of the fixed portion of the transaction fee for items not exceeding £10 in the electronics and home gardening categories on eBay UK in February 2022, it has saved considerable costs for sellers in Greater China.

The offer will expire on February 4, 2023. After that, for sellers in Greater China who list products in the electronics and home gardening categories on eBay UK, with a total order value of no more than £10 (including taxes and logistics fees payable), the fixed transaction fee for each order will be restored from the previous £0.1 (10 pence) to £0.3 (30 pence).

At the same time, eBay UK recently launched the ReSELLution program, which aims to increase revenue by selling unused and unwanted items in the home.

In January, people making their first sale on eBay will not have to pay selling fees for listing their products, an initiative the company hopes will boost sales and encourage people to join the ReSELLution movement.

New research from eBay UK found that between Boxing Day and payday in January, Brits surveyed reported having just £184 to spend on average, which equates to £5.26 a day in disposable income. A third of respondents (29%) are setting savings targets and a fifth (20%) are selling second-hand items online to make extra cash.

It is worth mentioning that previously, eBay UK released its annual business summary, emphasizing several important measures to promote the development of sellers.

Among them, eBay Business Roadshow, an investment program consisting of small local events, aims to help sellers across the UK start, scale up and connect with other businesses. Throughout 2022, eBay has been fully promoting the program.

eBay has visited nine locations in the UK, met with thousands of sellers, and issued tens of thousands of grants to help small businesses grow during this difficult period. If sellers have not yet participated in the eBay Business Roadshow, there will be three more in 2023. Sellers can check eBay's list of cities and sign up for upcoming events.
