During the National Day holiday, Amazon platform announced the upload channel for German WEEE, and announced that starting from January 1, 2024, Amazon will block non-compliant products from stores and brands that have not filled in the WEEE registration number. Below are the detailed steps for filling in the WEEE registration number.

According to Amazon's policy requirements, starting from January 1, 2023, Amazon will check whether sellers comply with Germany's WEEE regulations. If the WEEE registration number is not uploaded within the deadline, Amazon will stop selling products that do not meet the requirements.

Sellers who already have a WEEE registration number can upload it by following the steps below.

Log in to the Amazon backend homepage and find [Action Required], click "Please Provide Registration Information" to enter the operation interface.

Select the corresponding registration number category

Category 2: Display devices (screen equipment) for private households

Category 3: Lighting Equipment

Category 4: Large equipment (external dimensions greater than 50CM)

When you see "Brand" and "Electrical and Electronic Equipment Waste Registration Code" on the page, enter your German WEEE registration number in the long border, submit it, and wait for Amazon to verify it.

Note that if the above picture does not pop up after you select the category, but it shows "Information reminder: There is currently no registration number for waste electrical and electronic equipment for this equipment type...", you need to check whether the registration code type is consistent with the product type sold.

Which products need to be registered?

1. Heat exchangers

Refrigerators, freezers, appliances can be cooled by automatic distribution of cold products. Air conditioners, dehumidifiers, heat pumps, heat pump dryers, oil-filled radiators, etc.

2. Display devices for use in private households

Visual display units, TVs, LCD photo frames, monitors, laptops, tablets, e-book readers, etc.

3.Lamps/Glow-discharge lamps

Gas discharge lamps, compact fluorescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, LED bulbs, etc.

4. Large electronic devices

Note: Equipment with external dimensions greater than 50CM

Washing machines, copiers, electric stoves, etc.

5. Small electrical and electronic devices

Note: Equipment with external dimensions less than 50CM

Lights: night lights, flashlights, breathing lights, mirror lights, etc.;

6. Small IT and telecommunication devices

Mobile phones, GPS and navigation devices, faxes, graphics cards, motherboards, PC mice, radar detectors, etc.

There are less than three months until January 1, 2023, and it takes 2-3 months to register for WEEE. Unregistered sellers will definitely take the last bus, which will be the peak registration period. Too many people registering may cause system congestion, or the information may not meet the requirements and need to re-apply, which will extend the entire time limit in disguise.
