Shopee's new look activates Shopee Barokah

Shopee recently launched Shopee Barokah with a new look and features. After activating Shopee Barokah, it will be more convenient for consumers to search for halal products.

It is reported that there is a special search column for halal products, including but not limited to fashion products, worship equipment, food, books, pilgrimage equipment, and beauty products. As of October 8, there are tens of thousands of halal products in this column.

Shopee Barokah is a breakthrough for halal products on the Shopee platform, supporting Muslim needs and enabling its audience to easily find products that have obtained the Halal Products Assurance Authority (BPJPH) and other Islamic halal certificates.

As a one-stop platform for Muslims, Shopee Barokah has made the following four promises:

First, Shopee Barokah will ensure that the Muslim products it selects are halal and of high quality based on the Halal Product Assurance Organization (BPJPH). At the same time, Muslim products can be searched through a special search bar on the Shopee Barokah platform.

Second, buyers and sellers can use Islamic-compliant contracts and payment options to conduct transactions, such as COD (cash on delivery), ShopeePay, bank transfer, direct debit, and cash at partners/agents. Shopee will also work with strategic partners to jointly develop an ecosystem that supports Islamic needs.

Thirdly, Shopee Barokah will provide prayer timetables and a digital Quran to support Muslim worship.

Fourth, providing users with Zakat, Infaq, Alms and Waqf payment tools makes it easier for users (especially Muslims) to do charity and play an important role in overcoming economic and social problems together with trusted partners.

It is worth mentioning that according to the Shopee Malaysia Help Center, the withdrawal function of ShopeePay will be discontinued from October 14, 2022. From now on, users of Shopee Malaysia have about 5 days to transfer funds from ShopeePay to their bank accounts.

ShopeePay is a feature launched by Shopee Malaysia in 2019, initially to enable consumers to pay for purchases on Shopee instantly, especially during the popular midnight sales.

The e-wallet’s reach has since expanded further into physical stores, and earlier this year it was also chosen as one of the official e-wallets for the ePemula initiative.

In addition to the payment function, another feature of ShopeePay is the ability to withdraw wallet balance directly to one’s bank account. The feature is only available to users with ShopeePay Premium accounts obtained by verifying their MyKad. The withdrawal process does not happen instantly and it takes about one to three business days to complete the transfer.
