What is the Amazon Returns Service Provider Program and what are the benefits of joining?

In fact, the US site launched the Return Service Provider Program a long time ago and it has been well received. Therefore, Amazon recently opened the program to the European site. Let’s take a closer look at what the Amazon Return Service Provider Program is.

What is the Amazon Return Service Provider Program?

Amazon Return Service Provider Program (RP) means that when a buyer initiates a return, the seller needs to provide a return address in the buyer's country or region for the site where the seller is selling. Sellers can choose to cooperate with a provider of return services suitable for their own needs from a group of service providers audited by Amazon according to their return management needs. The return service provider will receive the returned goods, rate them, assess their condition, provide value recovery services such as resale, repair and clearance, and transfer the recovery value to the seller.

2. What is the difference between joining and not joining the Return Service Provider Program?

Are sellers still waiting to decide whether to join or not join the Return Service Provider Program? Let’s take a look at the differences between the two.

1. Not joining the Return Service Provider Program

When Amazon buyers apply for returns, self-delivery sellers need to choose from three return options: refund without return, return to the destination country, and return to China. If the seller does not have a return warehouse address in the buyer's country or region, then the seller can only choose to return the goods to China, which is a time-consuming, complicated, and extremely costly process. Or if you choose to refund without return, the seller will suffer heavy losses if the goods are of high value.

2. Join the Return Service Provider Program

After joining, sellers can establish cooperation with service providers that have been audited by Amazon and use the local warehouse address provided by the service provider. In this way, when buyers return goods, sellers can provide buyers with the local return address of their country/region. The service provider will then receive and manage the returns of the seller's self-delivered orders in the future, thereby helping sellers at a lower cost and reducing the seller's return costs.
