How to ship goods through Amazon FBM? What should I pay attention to?

In fact, no matter how strong the sellers are, they will encounter some problems when operating a store. It’s just that experienced sellers are better at solving problems and minimizing the losses caused by the problems as much as possible. So let’s take a look at how Amazon FBM ships!

There are two types of Amazon FBM delivery modes, one is the self-delivery mode, and the other is the drop shipping mode.

Basically, after your store places an order, the goods are sent to the logistics warehouse, unpacked, inspected and packaged by the staff, labeled with the customer information of the corresponding country, and then sent to the hands of foreign customers by air or sea. This is the FBM model, which is also a model that is more suitable for novices.

You are a seller who has just registered on Amazon. Many sellers are not familiar with the market. I personally recommend that you do not choose to ship by yourself in the early stage. It is more appropriate to directly find a dropshipping source platform to list the products, and then directly place the order on the source platform after the store places the order. Although the profit in the early stage will be a little less, the main focus in the early stage is on the operation level.

The advantages and disadvantages of FBM are quite obvious.

The risk is low. As mentioned above, the profit is higher for self-delivery than for a single item from FBA. It’s because one is about volume, and the other is about high unit price. FBA requires stockpiling, but self-delivery does not. Purchase and shipment are only made after an order is placed, so the risk is very low.

The profit is high, but the order volume is small. First of all, FBA sellers are more concerned with quantity, reducing the profit of the product, and then increasing the volume. Therefore, it is more difficult for FBM to compete with the FBA model for similar products.

Therefore, I personally recommend selling large-sized products in the Amazon FBM model. Because FBA sellers rarely choose to sell large-sized products. Shipping costs are secondary, and the main cost is storage costs. In addition, they rely on volume, so returns are a relatively troublesome thing. If the purchase price of the product is not high, they can directly choose to discard it.

For FBM large-item products, the better ones among the current domestic drop shipping platforms are: Guantong Distribution and Dajian Cloud Warehouse, two overseas warehouse supply platforms. However, the Dajian Cloud Warehouse platform model is that suppliers connect with sellers, and the platform charges service fees. Guantong is more convenient, and sellers directly connect with the platform. Personally, I still prefer the Guantong distribution platform.

Advantages of Fulfillment by Amazon

1. No inventory pressure

In the self-fulfillment model, the inventory is in the hands of the seller. The seller manages the inventory by himself, which can control the inventory level in time, speed up inventory turnover, reduce capital occupation, and control inventory risks. It is flexible and has less inventory pressure.

2. Multiple delivery channels to choose from

Sellers can choose from a variety of channels when they ship their own goods. Sellers can choose the most suitable shipping channel based on the characteristics of their products and customer needs, control logistics costs, and meet customer needs at the same time.

Disadvantages of Fulfillment by Amazon

Sellers have to personally handle packaging, transportation, customer service, and returns, and have to spend a lot of time and manpower on them. In addition, although there are many logistics channels to choose from for self-delivery, the timeliness is not controllable. If the delivery is not timely or the logistics is too slow, the customer's negative reviews cannot be eliminated.

In general, when doing Amazon FBM, try to do large-item products, and then choose to do overseas warehouse drop shipping, which will have greater advantages. Although the profit of overseas warehouse sources is relatively low, the profit will naturally become higher if the volume increases.
