50 days after Huawei Mate 60 Pro went on sale: 4,000 people waited in the live broadcast room to get a bargain, but it was still hard to get one

Huawei became a hot search when it launched the Mate 60 series, and recently it has once again become a hot search on major social platforms. Let's take a look at the specific situation this time~

The internet buzzword "far ahead" has just cooled down for a few days, and the Huawei Mate 60 series, known as the pride of domestic mobile phones, has once again become a hot search on major social platforms.

On October 20, according to the latest data from Counterpoint Research, Huawei's Mate 60 Pro mobile phone sold 1.6 million units in 6 weeks, while Mate 60 Pro sold 400,000 units in the two weeks after Apple launched the iPhone 15 series of mobile phones.

It is reported that Huawei Mate 60 Pro is the first popular smartphone that supports satellite calls. At the same time, Mate 60 Pro is connected to the Pangu AI large model and is equipped with functions such as AI air control, smart payment, and screen-unturning while staring.

As soon as the news came out, many users participated in the discussion. After all, since the Mate 60 Pro went on sale on August 29, the market has been in a state of supply exceeding demand for 50 days. In addition to the online e-commerce platform being sold out in one second, offline queues and high prices are common. Therefore, the user's message area is more like a "complaint wall", complaining about the difficulty of getting a Mate 60 Pro.

According to the author's own personal experience and the sales situation on online live e-commerce platforms, it is basically true that the Mate 60 Pro is "hard to get".
At the beginning of the month, I posted a message on WeChat Moments seeking to purchase the Mate 60 Pro series. The responses from mobile phone merchants were basically that they were out of stock or required a surcharge of around 2,000 yuan. When I consulted an offline store, I was told that I needed to wait, but the time was uncertain.

On the 19th, Douyin Huawei Mall released a batch of new Mate 60 Pro series phones, which were quickly sold out. In the end, Huawei ranked fifth on Douyin's sales list with sales of 14.09 million. It should be noted that this is only a limited sale. If the supply can keep up, this number is likely to double or triple.

Sales data from the Douyin Huawei Mall live broadcast room on the 19th. The sales of the two models of the Mate 60 Pro series alone exceeded 10 million.

Let’s take a look at the sales data of this live broadcast room today.

In the morning session, with no Mate 60 Pro series in stock, sales during the four-hour live broadcast were a dismal 268,000.

On the other hand, when the host informed that there was stock available in the afternoon, more than 4,000 people were already waiting in line in the live broadcast room. Even though many Mate 60 Pro series models had been sold out at 18:18, there were still thousands of people waiting for the opportunity to grab a bargain after the host informed that some users had placed orders but had not paid and could cancel the orders after more than half an hour.

The difference between having the Mate 60 Pro and not having it is astonishing.

Apple, Huawei's major domestic competitor, performed weakly, showing a polarized trend compared to Huawei. Counterpoint data showed that the sales of the latest iPhone 15 in China 17 days after its release did not perform as well as last year's iPhone 14, down 4.5% year-on-year.

What is even more unexpected is that according to the latest report from third-party channel dealers, only one month after the release of the basic and Plus models of iPhone 15, the prices of these two models have now dropped all the way to lower than the official website price of iPhone 14.

Although various data show that the iPhone 15 has not performed well in the Chinese market, the market influence and market share that Apple has built up in China over the past 30 years is still undeniable. According to data from market research firm TechInsights, in the second quarter of this year, iPhone shipments reached 43.1 million units. For the first time, China surpassed the United States to become the single largest market for iPhone shipments.

However, the indisputable fact is that with the failure of iPhone 15 and the focus of Mate 60 Pro, the status of domestic mobile phones is constantly improving. Data shows that since September, Huawei has become the fastest growing mobile phone manufacturer, with year-on-year growth rates of 91%, 46%, 83% and 95% in the past four weeks (W37-W40) respectively. Huawei's mobile phone sales share has also increased from about 10% before the release of the Mate60 series to 19.4% of the W40, ranking first in the market.

Domestic brands led by Huawei are rising, and "high-end mobile phones" are no longer synonymous with Apple. Faced with the competition from domestic manufacturers and the rising enthusiasm of consumers for domestic products, Apple's 30-year iron throne has also been shaken at this moment. Although it is still too early to say whether Huawei and others will be on par with Apple in the future, or even surpass Apple, this year's market performance can be said to have achieved a phased victory, which is already an encouraging breakthrough.
