Some quit their jobs to open noodle shops or pastry shops, some opened their own Taobao stores, or some planned to start a Douyin self-media business.

To sum up, restaurants are the first choice for many people, and then self-media has become one of the considerations.

1. Too few options

We talked a lot together, but got a very cruel reality.

Most people have worked for more than ten years, but they don't have much cash left except for buying a house, a car and raising children.

If you don't work, there are really few entrepreneurial opportunities available to you.

On the one hand, many people are too embarrassed to drive ride-hailing cars, deliver errands, or make express deliveries.

On the other hand, from the perspective of return on investment, you have a greater chance of making money by opening your own store.

But when you really have to make a choice, opening a restaurant, a braised food shop, a noodle shop, a malatang shop, an online clothing store, a snack shop, etc. is the easiest.

I really don’t know how to do anything else!

So you see that many people who used to write code, work in sales, and do operations on the Internet before the age of 40 have gone to various chain stores to learn how to cook and use seasonings.

This is not irony at all, but reality and helplessness.

Second, we must accumulate high-quality resources

There are only two reasons for this situation:

First, most people will be replaced in the workplace because there are only a few senior executives in a company, and the rest are just executivists.

Secondly, many people in the workplace play more of an executive role, repeating a lot of work every day, so they do not accumulate much skills, experience, and resources.

So here are two suggestions for you:

1. Gain experience

You must be cautious when choosing a job and make sure to choose an industry and position where you can gain experience.

For example, if you work as a dishwasher, customer service representative, security guard, etc., it is very likely that you will be the same for five or ten years without any change.

You don’t know how to make products, how to run a business, or how to generate traffic.

But if you go to a mature e-commerce company and start as an intern, no matter it is a small factory or a big brand, you will be in such a team.

You will have the opportunity to learn how others handle customer service, how to put products on shelves, set prices, select products, assemble products, invest in traffic, and how to test products.

For example, why do some people learn to be a chef, learn to be a hairdresser, or learn how to make something? It seems that this is still physical labor, but after at least three to five years of learning, they will know how to cook dozens of dishes, how to cut various hairstyles, and how to open a Taobao store.

2. Accumulate resources

Be sure to choose a job that can help you accumulate project experience, industry resources, and customer connections.

Why is it that after graduating from sales positions in traditional industries, many people can start their own business or quickly get started by working for other companies?

The core lies in the accumulation of resources, including some teachers who do training. Even if they leave, they still have many clients.

The reason is that he can accumulate customers, customers trust him, and customers follow him.

In the Internet industry, there are many people who are executors, so changing people every year will not have any impact on the company.

But for him, there is no difference between working for five years and ten years. Naturally, after he leaves, the room for choice and the difficulty of starting a business will be very high.

3. Ordinary people must be cautious when starting a business

Although it is difficult to find a job, especially as you get older.

No matter you are forced or have a dream in your heart, I still want to remind you that you should be extra cautious about starting a business.

1. Don’t start a business unless you have no other choice

You have to think carefully. If you want to earn 10,000 yuan a month, then if you start your own business, excluding rent, water, electricity, labor, marketing and other expenses, you may need to make a turnover of 20,000 or 30,000 yuan.

This turnover may seem very low, but it can make you 700 or 1,000 yuan a day by selling a product that costs an average of 15 or 20 yuan, and you have to sell dozens or hundreds of copies.

Do you think you can do it?

Don’t think that selling 100 orders a day is easy. Whether you open an offline physical store or an online Taobao or Douyin store, selling 100 orders is a difficult thing.

2. Don’t go all in. Start small.

Starting a business is not for face or vanity. It may sound nice to be called boss by others, but it is difficult to be a boss.

If you decide to start a business, whether it is a physical store or an online store, please be sure to start small.

For example, if you want to open a physical store, you can start by renting a store of 10 to 20 square meters instead of 40, 50 or even 100 square meters.

For example, if you plan to open a Taobao store or self-media, start in your bedroom, or find a small remote place.

What I worry about most is that I will be overconfident, and then rent a venue of 100 to 200 square meters, spend hundreds of thousands to buy various equipment, and invest hundreds of thousands before the business officially starts.

You have to know that when you go to work in a company, you will earn positive income every day.

But if you start your own business, even if you earn income every day, it may take half a year or a year before you can really make money.

Even if you make money, you will still need to continue investing and there is a possibility of losing money.
