Although the appeal of large companies is not as high as before, it is still very helpful for career development to work in a large company. Today I will briefly talk about my suggestions. I have three suggestions: go to a Chinese factory first, stay there for three years, and wait for the right opportunity. 1. Go to the middle factory firstIt is difficult to teach mathematics to a child who is too young. It will be much easier to teach him when he grows to a certain age. You have to admit that it is indeed difficult for a startup to jump directly into a large company. It is definitely the easiest to jump from a large company to another one, and it is also relatively easy to jump from a medium-sized company to a large company. However, jumping directly from a startup to a large company is like teaching a very young child to learn math. It is not impossible to succeed, but it is very difficult. The reason for the difficulty is not that there is a problem with the ability of employees in startup companies, but that the ability requirements for employees in startup companies and medium and large companies are completely different. Startup companies usually have fewer employees, and having three or five people on a project is considered a big deal. Everyone is basically a generalist. In large and medium-sized companies, more people will be involved in a project, and there will inevitably be division of labor and coordination, which requires higher professional skills and communication and collaboration skills. These two different working styles will make people develop different working habits. People in startup companies have working habits that are incompatible with those in large companies, so it is easy for them to suffer from acclimatization when they move to large companies. Another reason is that startups lack corporate endorsement. Medium-sized companies are generally well-known and are more likely to recruit outstanding talents. This is very similar to the role of academic qualifications. A good school does not mean that you will definitely be excellent, but the probability of your excellence is higher. So if you are in a startup, you can consider going to a medium-sized company first to eliminate the doubts of the interviewer from a large company about your work habits and abilities. 2. Stay for three yearsWhen you arrive at a medium-sized factory, you need to stay there for a sufficient number of years. Sufficient years of work can help you accumulate capital to move to a large factory. So far, my former colleagues in medium-sized companies can be roughly divided into three categories:
Excluding the second category of people who don't want to work for big companies, the proportion of people who eventually go to big companies is close to 90%, which is much higher than expected. Compared with the third group of people, the first group of people do not have particularly obvious differences in ability and intelligence, but because they have stayed in medium-sized factories for a long time, their career stability and years of business experience are more popular when interviewing in large factories. Those who change jobs to small and medium-sized companies in the middle of their careers are attracted by the salary increase. In the short term, this choice has obvious benefits, and they can quickly earn higher incomes. However, because the industry of small and medium-sized companies is unstable, they will most likely have to find a new job after a few years. However, because their professional resumes are not so outstanding, it will be more difficult to find a job later, so in the long run, the benefits may not be high. Those who stick to their original company will not earn as much as those who change jobs in the short term. So these three to five years will be really hard to endure. However, the accumulation of business experience over three to five years has made his resume more solid. This will give him more capital to switch to a large company. When he successfully switches to a large company, it is equivalent to cashing in his experience over the past few years when he finally changes jobs. 3. Waiting for an opportunityWill I be admitted to a big company if I stay in a medium-sized factory? There is nothing absolute in the world, but the probability can become very high. You must have learned about probability. The probability of a coin appearing heads or tails is 50%. If you toss a coin 10 times in a row, what is the probability of getting heads at least once? It is 99.9%. Working in the midfield and waiting for job opportunities in large companies is like flipping a coin. The probability of success may not be high, maybe 20%, or even less than 10%. But the frequency of recruitment in large companies is still very high. Although the salary and benefits of large companies are relatively high, the work pressure is also very high, and the turnover of personnel is not small. There are so many large companies that can match you. There are at least 5 to 10 positions a year. In three years, there are at least more than 20. If your chance of getting a job is only 10%, then the chance of getting at least one job out of 20 is 88%. If you apply for a longer period of time, the chance will be even higher (the probability calculation here is not rigorous, but the reality is basically in line with this rule, as long as you understand what I mean). Therefore, while you are in a medium-sized factory, you should pay attention to the recruitment trends of large factories and apply for more suitable positions. Of course, this also requires you to have some ability reserves. summaryMany students are eager to enter large companies and always want to do so in the shorter time. I don't have the ability to teach a quick method. I think this steady progress method is the most effective. Although this method takes a long time to take effect, the probability of success in the end is very high. As long as you do the above three steps well, I believe you will eventually be able to enter a large company. Author: Jason Source: WeChat public account "Sanyuan Variance (ID: sanyuanfangcha)" |
