In this market, there is almost no formula for product selection, because what you see is basically a red ocean, and you can't even look down on it. What I often say is that no matter what product you want to sell, it’s nothing more than finding the needs and pain points of a group of people and satisfying them. But some people still ask me: How do I know what other people’s needs are? Oh well! Today I’ll give you another special method: since you can’t find needs in other people, look for your own needs and pain points! However, our goal is to find segmented products with high customer orders, so we need to have an open mind and follow Teacher Fox’s ideas. You need to "internalize" the ideas in this article before you can apply them to other fields. I will list 3 cases in the "Methodology" section to help you understand. 1. ThinkingBefore you begin, you need to understand three key points: 1. To do segmented high-orderOur target is segmented products with high unit price, because after 2023, only very segmented fields will be worth your effort. The products and ideas you can see on the surface of the market are already a big red ocean... Therefore, our future way out is to produce high-priced products in niche areas! 2. Think outside the boxSince we want to target high-order customers in niche areas, you need to think outside of your conventional ways. For example, if your mindset of choosing products is still based on e-commerce platforms, you will easily fall into the red ocean, because many transaction channels for high-unit-customer-price products are not on e-commerce platforms, but in private domains. So you can hardly find such products on e-commerce platforms, or there are products but you can’t see the sales volume… This will make you mistakenly believe that there is no demand for this product, allowing the opportunity to slip through your fingers. That’s right, what we are looking for today are products that others don’t understand. These are the entrepreneurial opportunities for the next 5-10 years. As long as you can focus on it, you can easily make 500,000 to 2 million yuan per year from this kind of products. 3. Study yourself thoroughlyBased on the core principle that "finding the needs and pain points of a group of people is equivalent to finding business opportunities" , looking at it the other way around, if you study yourself thoroughly, it is equivalent to finding the needs of a group of people. Because of your personality and hobbies, you will always find a large group of people like you among more than 1.4 billion people. So the first step you need to do is to list the characteristics of your hobbies. If you say you don't have any hobbies, then Mr. Fox can't help you. People have to have hobbies and interests, right? We are all human beings, not robots. But if you really can't find it in yourself, then look for it among your brothers and sisters, preferably those you are very familiar with and around you. There are two reasons: 1) Communication barriers If you are not familiar enough with someone, even if they are relatives or friends, there will be barriers in communication. If you don’t see each other once every half a year, there will be a gap when you suddenly start chatting. They won’t be able to open their hearts and talk to you, right? Moreover, you don't see each other often, so you can't get to know each other's situation from the side. 2) Unable to understand the details If you are not familiar enough with each other, the other party will not be able to tell you the details. At the same time, the other party may feel embarrassed, or some details that he is already accustomed to may be very important information points for you. Therefore, it is best to start with yourself and study yourself thoroughly. This is the easiest way. Otherwise, you can only communicate with them more, study them more, and filter out the information that is useful to you... 2. MethodsOnce you understand what I said above, let’s officially start. Here, Teacher Fox divides it into 3 steps, and you must take each step seriously. Due to limited space, I can't show all the details here. You need to follow my ideas step by step! 1. RecordsFirst, you need to close your eyes, calm down, and write down your usual habits and hobbies on a piece of paper. In this process, even if it is a very small point, just write down whatever comes to mind, and don’t worry about whether it makes sense or not. If you can’t write it all at once, you can write it in multiple times and then summarize them together! 2. OrganizeAt first you get a messy record, and then you reorganize it. Assuming that my favorite thing is "2D", after sorting out the relevant content, I can summarize it into a picture similar to the following: Of course, this is just a random example for you to understand better. Maybe your table content will be richer, with dozens of items or even more. The richer and more detailed it is, the better. 3. ConnectionAfter organizing the content, you need to open your mind and do the connection questions! If you are researching yourself, then you should be familiar with these areas and it will be relatively simple to think about them. If you are studying a friend, you may need to use your imagination first and do the connecting questions well, regardless of whether they are right or wrong. For example: Case 1: You can think about it, if there is someone who likes to "make hand journals", "collect comic books", and "do handicrafts", what would their needs and pain points be? People who really love collecting comic books should have a lot of "collections", and they have a lot of small tools for making handicrafts, which would be very messy if they were placed everywhere... So, they should dream of having a cabinet like this one. This way you can find someone to work with to make a custom bookcase. Case 2: If someone likes cartoon decorations and cute things, what else would he like? Maybe the first thing you think of is selling cartoon posters, cartoon alarm clocks, a cute cartoon pen holder... It’s okay, you can think more boldly, such as a cabinet like this: this can be an embellishment of the room, and it is also a cute cabinet that can be used for storage. You can also work with others to customize it. In fact, it is just an ordinary cabinet with cartoon elements added. You can ask your friends who like the 2D world, is there anyone who doesn’t like it? Similar cabinets can be made into many different themes, and then you can customize them for fans who like different anime themes... Case 3: Let’s do something a little more complicated. You can think about it along with Teacher Fox. If your family likes to put up anime posters, likes cute things, likes to collect character figures, and likes fluffy things, what kind of person would you be? I guess he would be an avid 2D fan, who likes to wear fluffy clothes and also likes fluffy things. Since you are an avid 2D fan and like to collect figures, you will definitely have a lot of them. But he/she likes the two-dimensional world, but his/her family may not like it, so the room will naturally become his/her own private territory. Then his dream room should at least be like this: full of ACG atmosphere, plus fluffy, anime-style mattresses and pillows... So every element here can be combined into your own unique product.
Of course, Mr. Fox is just giving you an example here. There are some copyright issues involved in animation, so you need to consider them carefully. This example is for your convenience. You need to combine and split products based on the areas you are familiar with. Once you master this set of ideas, you can expand into many fields and categories. To be honest, I originally planned to charge for this content or share it internally, because my free sharing seemed to have disturbed the cheese of some teachers. After all, a lot of the content I shared in the article is not taught in courses that charge thousands of dollars outside... There are also some unscrupulous people who steal my articles and turn them into their own paid content, which really makes me angry. In addition, I recently plan to write an internal book about exploring needs and product selection inspiration, summarizing all the techniques I have summarized. If you have any questions or ideas in this regard, please feel free to provide me with inspiration! Okay, I’ll stop here for this article. In the next article, I will continue with this topic and analyze it from the perspective of entrepreneurs themselves and their psychology. I will tell you the secret about "why some people can't make high-priced products". See you in the next article! ConclusionTo choose high-priced products, you need to think outside the online earning mindset, e-commerce mindset, and e-commerce platform mindset. Otherwise, it will be difficult for you to find niche high-profit products, and your mindset will be constrained. This is why many people can’t find the right products, because almost all you see are superficial, very popular products. You need to start from the field you are familiar with and break out of conventional thinking to uncover unconventional product needs. In the next 5 to 10 years, only by meeting unconventional user needs can you escape from the red ocean competition. When choosing products using this method, you can be imaginative when thinking about the plan, but before you put it into practice, please be sure to verify the needs and have a deep understanding of this group! Each of my articles is intended to provide you with inspiration and broaden your thinking. Even if it can be of any help to you in the slightest, it will make Teacher Fox sincerely happy. |
