In fact, according to the provisions of the "Port Charge Rules of the Ministry of Transport of the People's Republic of China (Foreign Trade Part)", the fees described in this definition are only the container terminal loading and unloading lump sum fees paid by the carrier to the terminal operator (third parties such as terminals, ports, loading and unloading companies), rather than the fees charged by the carrier to the shipper.

THC costs are incurred during the transportation process, which is equivalent to the handling fees in the transportation of general cargo, but it includes more content than the handling fees of general cargo. In fact, this fee includes all the costs related to the container incurred from the ship to the yard or from the yard to the ship, generally including the following: container handling fees, terminal weighing fees, tractor usage fees, chassis fees, lashing fees, etc., and THC costs are the sum of various costs of the container in the above operations.

THC charging standard:

(1)THC charges are divided into large and small containers. As long as the import and export unit is a container, the charge is xx yuan/small container and xx yuan/large container. The charging standards vary in each region. If it is LCL, the larger one is charged based on gross weight or volume, which is generally xx yuan per unit.

(2) There is also a DOC fee, which is charged per ticket. Different shipping companies charge different fees, some are more, some are less. The final fee will be based on the actual charge.

(3) THC fees are paid to the shipping company, usually when signing the bill or telex release. Sometimes the shipping company collects it itself, sometimes the freight forwarder collects it on behalf of the terminal. THC fees are usually paid by the domestic supplier, that is, the seller.

THC costs are generally borne by merchants, so merchants need to verify their own costs. This cost is not necessarily incurred. During the sea transportation process, some products may need to pay THC fees!
