How does Amazon conduct FBA liquidation?

The "FBA Liquidation" program will provide sellers with an alternative method to dispose of or recycle inventory. Sellers can not only recover certain costs, but also reduce storage fees. Inventory selected for liquidation will be sent to wholesale liquidators, and the recycling price is between 5%-10% of the average selling price of the product.

1. Qualification of sellers and products

On the Manage Excess Inventory page, you can see which items Amazon recommends as eligible for the liquidation program based on customer demand and other factors.

The item's current price below will show whether the item qualifies for a clearance sale (submitted via Create Clearance Sale) or a clearance store (submitted via Create Sale).

Products must qualify for the liquidation program:

(1) The Amazon fulfillment center is currently available for sale;

(2) Amazon has historical sales records;

(3) In new condition;

(4) Not registered for the Subscribe & Save program;

2. Cost

Currently, liquidation fees are free. Amazon sellers do not need to pay additional fees for liquidation, but will be charged distribution fees and sales commissions.

3. How to create a clearance sale?

(1) Select Inventory Planning from the Inventory drop-down menu in Seller Central, then click the Manage Excess Inventory tab.

(2) Select Create Clearance Sale from the drop-down menu to the right of the product.

(3) In the pop-up window, enter the clearance sale price in the box next to [Highest clearance sale price].

(4) Click Submit.

If you see that the highest sale price is $x, please change the sale price to ensure that it is less than or equal to the highest sale price.

Note: Not all promotions requested by sellers will be approved. Amazon will send an email to the seller if the promotion is approved. Sellers are advised to check the seller's clearance promotion report the following Friday after submitting the promotion. It will appear in the list under Sales on the left side of the page. Amazon operators can access the report through the Manage Excess Inventory page.
