How do Chinese sellers join Ozon? What are the requirements?

Ozon is a B2C e-commerce platform in Russia and the largest online retailer in Russia. Since the launch of this platform, more and more people have started to open stores here. So how can Chinese sellers enter Ozon?

The requirements for Ozon entry are:

1. Business license of the company in mainland China or Hong Kong, ID card of the legal representative

2. The Amazon or AliExpress store has been in business for at least 2 years

3. Product prices including logistics are no higher than other Russian e-commerce platforms (Yandex, Joom, AliExpress Russia)

4. Able to provide Russian customer service.

Sellers who want to settle in the OZON platform need to log in to its official website to register an account before they can start filling in the settlement information. The account can be opened in about 2-3 weeks after applying for settlement. In addition, since Ozon is a platform in the Russian-speaking region, sellers need to send an email in Russian when filling in the settlement application or settlement information.

There is no annual fee, no monthly rent, or any merchant fees for opening a store on Ozon. There is only commission. The commission varies for different categories. It is 5% for electronic products, 10% for baby products, and 15% for most products.

Regarding repayment: the platform repays twice a month, and the repayment must reach 1,000 US dollars or euros. Currently, the platform has not recommended any particular payment company. Some companies can directly receive payments through their own bank accounts (an account that can receive euros or US dollars will do).

Regarding logistics: Ozon requires sellers to find logistics providers themselves. Currently, the platform supports aftershipping logistics providers, and sellers can check on the website. The faster the logistics time, the better. 14 days is the best requirement, and the platform can also accept delivery within 20-30 days. Overseas warehouse shipments are also acceptable.

About product upload: The platform supports single product upload, batch product upload, API, and CSV upload. There are two main reasons why Russian market consumers shop through cross-border platforms: lower commodity prices and a wider range of commodity categories, and goods from China open up the market with such characteristics. The main categories of Chinese goods purchased by consumers in Russian-speaking regions are clothing and accessories, followed by mobile phones and telecommunications peripherals. For domestic brand sellers, the advantages brought by the Ozon platform to the brand are huge, and it is a platform worth considering for factories and large sellers to settle in.
