How to test products in cross-border e-commerce? Ideas for testing products in cross-border e-commerce

Whether you are doing cross-border e-commerce or domestic e-commerce, you must not only select good products, but also do a good job of product testing, so that you can have targeted plans in later operations. So how does cross-border e-commerce test products? Next, we will explain to you the ideas of cross-border e-commerce product testing.

Let’s take Amazon as an example:

The first thing is product selection. Product selection requires data analysis based on your category, and then look at the hot products of your peers to prepare more than a dozen products for testing. Many operators will find a competitor as an imaginary enemy, with the goal of surpassing him. After finding it, the first thing we have to do is to set the price. We can set it at 90% of the competitor's price or about 1~2 US dollars lower. For low-value products, we can set it at 90%, and for high-value products, we can set it at one or two US dollars lower. This is also the most commonly used method for domestic e-commerce.

After setting the price, you must prepare the product listing, title, search terms, description, main picture, auxiliary picture and video. These should be done well in the early stage, and the later optimization will be easy. It is also very important for product testing. Let's start product testing:

1. Ocean freight test

The sea freight testing usually involves a stock of 500 super-large items, and the number of tested items is mainly 20-25; the operation cycle of sea freight testing usually takes about one and a half months to two months. Sellers have three months a year to prepare for large-scale promotions, and testing items only requires 4-6 times a year; for super-large items, products with a gross profit margin of 70%-80% are generally selected.

2. Air freight testing

For air freight testing, it is generally standard parts, with a total stock of 1,000 pieces and 20-50 styles. The basic operation of the seller can be based on 50 styles. The standard for air freight testing is that the seller needs to do a good job of SEO at the beginning of the listing, and leave it naturally for a week to see if there are any natural orders. After a week, if there is no order after opening the advertisement for a week, the seller should clean up these products, and expand the stock according to the order volume if there are orders.

The operation cycle of air freight testing is generally once a month to one and a half months; generally, 6-9 models can be tested in a year, because at this time the store already has several hot models, which will be the main source of profit for the seller and the main source of capital chain.

In fact, the main purpose of product testing is to see how popular the product is and how its sales are. However, product testing definitely takes some time so that the data measured is accurate, so merchants must wait patiently!
