How to open a cross-border e-commerce store? Pay attention to these points

As the domestic e-commerce industry is becoming increasingly saturated, many sellers have begun to shift their focus to the cross-border e-commerce industry. my country's production capacity continues to increase, and many products are very popular with foreign consumers. Cross-border e-commerce is promising, so how can we do it?

1. If you want to make money by opening a cross-border e-commerce store, you must first understand the platform. If you are doing Wish, you must first understand the information and background of the Wish platform. For example, Wish is a high-tech unicorn company established in 2011. In 2018, it ranked first in downloads among shopping apps, with user groups in more than 80 countries around the world. Of course, the platform's main user base is still in developed countries such as Europe and the United States.

However, in recent years, orders from emerging countries, such as Brazil, have begun to increase significantly, which is a good sign. These are the general directions of platform development. If you want to do a good job in wish cross-border e-commerce, you must know these basic directions and pay attention to important information on the platform. Only by understanding the platform can you better operate your store.

2. For e-commerce people, if there is no traffic, let alone sales. So traffic is very important. In addition to the most basic products, the ways I usually get traffic on the Wish platform are internal traffic and external traffic. On Wish, the main way to get internal traffic is PB, which plays a big role in product testing, detonating hot sales, maintaining sales, etc. If your product is good enough, the conversion rate of the traffic you get will be very high, and you can quickly burn out new products. It is a fast and effective method.

There are many ways to attract traffic outside the site, and everyone does it differently. I mainly use self-built websites, Facebook promotion, and YouTube video promotion.

3. No matter which platform you open a cross-border e-commerce store on, you will find that logistics is a very important part after doing it for a long time. You must understand Wish's logistics policy and make full use of some logistics opportunities provided by the platform. For example, the logistics of the Wish platform are divided into Wish Express overseas warehouse, FBW overseas warehouse, EPC consolidated order, Wish mail platform and direct delivery from mainland China.

Wish Express is my favorite logistics method, referred to as "WE". As an overseas warehouse delivery solution, it has favorable policies, such as 3 times the traffic tilt, front-end exclusive logo, 5% rebate, overseas warehouse return service, etc. Although the overall cost may be higher than direct delivery, the advantage in logistics speed is really incomparable to direct delivery. A large part of the returns and refunds encountered by e-commerce is due to logistics reasons. In addition to logistics speed, the most obvious benefit of WE is the reduction of refund and return rate.

FBW's overseas warehouses are actually similar to WE's, but the overseas warehouses used by FBW are officially recognized by Wish and are more secure. Therefore, relatively speaking, the platform will allocate more resources to FBW, such as up to 10 times the traffic support, exemption from logistics delays, etc.

At present, FBW overseas warehouses have been established in the United States and Europe. After merchants join the FBW project, they can start to enjoy the logistics services provided by FBW by stocking their products in the overseas warehouses designated by Wish. The platform provides you with a series of subsequent service support such as collection, packaging, and delivery. As for whether to use WE or FBW, it depends on our needs and our bargaining power. Generally, sellers have average bargaining power for overseas warehouses, so FBW costs may be lower.

Of course, for many small and medium-sized sellers, overseas warehouses may be difficult to operate. Wish's current domestic direct delivery, as a traditional delivery model, also has certain potential for development. Again, to do Wish, you must make full use of the conditions provided by the platform and set as many delivery destinations as possible for the product under the condition that the product freight and logistics channels allow, so that you can get more orders and naturally make money.

No matter which platform we choose, we must first understand the background of the platform and be familiar with the rules of the platform. Secondly, we must do a good job of promotion and traffic diversion, whether it is on or off the site, and do not miss any channels that may bring traffic. At the same time, we must pay special attention to logistics issues.
