I accepted the mutual selection advertisement and was blockedBut just this morning, a blogger posted an angry blog post. He angrily denounced the public account’s mutual selection platform for its lax and arbitrary punishment. The reason is that the blogger accepted an advertisement through WeChat’s advertising selection platform, and the content of the advertisement was also reviewed by WeChat. I thought I no longer had to worry about user complaints and could finally wait for the money to arrive, but the next day its official account was blocked. Things like group messaging, automatic replies, and traffic revenue are all restricted. Anyone who encounters this situation will be angry. Wasn’t it agreed that the advertisement was officially reviewed? How could it violate the rules? So this incident also serves as a reminder to all public account bloggers. The mutual selection platform has just been launched, and many standards and processes are not yet perfected, so you must be careful when accepting advertisements on it. 2. Automatic identification of advertising contentI don’t know if you have noticed this, in order to further standardize the content information of official accounts. The official account has an automatic identification system for advertising content. Once the system scans an article and deems it to contain advertising content risks, it will print a text reminder at the bottom of the article: The above content contains advertisements. At present, this advertising content identification algorithm is not very accurate. Some articles clearly do not contain advertisements, but may touch on some keywords and are labeled indiscriminately. This is similar to the content folding in our WeChat Moments. Some content is obviously normal, but it is still folded. Therefore, in the future, the standards for publishing content will be more stringent for public account bloggers, and conversion rates will also be affected. Maybe in the future, a self-selected advertising tag will be added, allowing bloggers to add it when posting. 3. Pay attention to the content and frequency of advertisementsMany readers often criticize bloggers for making a living and taking advantage of others, and sometimes even report and complain mercilessly. However, as a public account blogger, especially a full-time blogger, in order to survive and monetize, you must accept advertisements and sell goods. Here is a reminder to all my colleagues: First, you must strictly review the content of the advertisements you publish . At present, public accounts seem to provide bloggers with many monetization opportunities: traffic owners, mutual selection, rewards, paid articles, and good product alliances. But for bloggers, a more direct way to monetize is through advertising. Compared with ByteDance’s Toutiao, Douyin, etc., there is still a big gap in public accounts in increasing bloggers’ income. However, the same content may get 10 or 20 times the direct return on Toutiao. Compared with those high-quality content creators who make money by making Tik Tok, the income is even greater.
