Is Shopee cross-border e-commerce really profitable? Is there a fee for opening a store?

As an emerging business model, cross-border e-commerce has a very broad prospect. However, to succeed in cross-border e-commerce, you need to have certain strength and experience. So is Shopee cross-border e-commerce really profitable?

Some people make money, some people lose money

1. Does Shopee charge for opening a cross-border e-commerce store?

There is no need to pay any money to open a store on the Shopee cross-border e-commerce platform. The platform does not charge a deposit or guarantee at the beginning, but three months after the store is opened, you need to pay a commodity transaction commission to the platform. The transaction commission is calculated based on the store level.

The commission standards of the Shopee platform are as follows: If a first-level store generates merchandise revenue greater than or equal to US$1 million, the platform will charge a 3% commission; if a second-level store generates merchandise revenue greater than or equal to US$500,000, the platform will charge a 4% commission; if a third-level store generates merchandise revenue less than US$500,000, the platform will charge a 5% commission.

2. What are the fees?

1. Documentation Fees

First of all, the business license is indispensable in the document. It is generally free to apply for a business license. If you cannot do it yourself, it is recommended to find an agent. If you do not have bank statements, you can borrow one. If you cannot borrow one, you can buy one. The price is around three to five hundred yuan. If you spend less, the total is only about 600-800 yuan.

2. Software costs

There are many ERP systems (enterprise management software) on the Internet. Find one that has a stable port and is easy to use. It costs about four to five hundred yuan a year. If you are a novice, you can try a free one first.

3. Hardware costs

It will be fine as long as you have a computer, mouse and keyboard at home. If not, you can buy one in the second-hand market. It will cost about one thousand yuan. It does not need too high configuration. It only needs to be able to open web pages and watch videos.

4. Shopee activity deposit

The official Shopee activity deposit is 3,000. Of course, the activity funds are not required to be paid. The store's free shipping and shrimp coin return activities are not within the scope of the activity deposit, and you can't invest in activities whenever you want. Of course, if you have sufficient funds, you don't have to do this.

5. Liquidity

All stores need working capital, even if you are in a no-source model, you still need 3,000 yuan of working capital, which is the money you need to pay for delivery after placing an order. Of course, if no order is placed, you will not be able to use this money, so it is best not to have enough.

In general, whether Shopee cross-border e-commerce can make money depends on the merchant's personal ability. If the ability is strong, then you can make money on Shopee.
