eBay takes protective measures for sellers affected by rail network disruption

eBay Australia recently announced that due to floods and extreme weather, rail network disruptions in Western Australia, South Australia and Victoria have affected the delivery time of mail and parcels as well as sellers.

To ensure that sellers’ performance standards are not impacted, eBay has implemented seller protections. eBay protections apply to parcels arriving and departing from the affected regions during the following times until normal operations resume: Western Australia from November 13; South Australia and Victoria from November 12.

To ensure that the service indicator rating is not affected, sellers need to upload valid tracking information before the estimated delivery date. eBay will automatically delete the rating-affecting information received by sellers between the above dates: delayed delivery rate; bad transactions caused by sellers canceling transactions; "Item Not Received" disputes caused by delayed delivery; any medium or negative reviews; INR defects in the seller's standards.

Going forward, eBay will continue to monitor logistics conditions and expand seller protections when necessary.

It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, eBay Australia also put forward some precautions for sellers who resell event tickets, and reminded sellers to strictly abide by the sales rules to avoid their products being removed from the shelves.

Generally, as long as they comply with local laws in Australia, sellers can resell tickets for events such as concerts, theatre or sporting events. Live Performance Australia has produced an overview of the laws governing the resale of event tickets in Australia.

eBay reminds sellers to be aware of the specific rules for selling event tickets in New South Wales and Victoria on the eBay platform.

Tickets for NSW sporting or entertainment events that are subject to resale restrictions (a term or condition in the ticket that restricts resale) may be sold on eBay, but the advertised price of the ticket must not exceed 10% of the original ticket price and the item description must include the original supply cost of the ticket and the specific seat or location details of the ticket.

Additionally, tickets for events advertised in Victoria may not be sold on eBay. eBay takes its responsibilities regarding the resale of tickets seriously and will take prompt action if it becomes aware of listings that violate its policies.
