Is the shipping fee on Shopee Taiwan high? How is it calculated?

Shopee has many sites, and the Taiwan site is the preferred site for many merchants. However, when many merchants open the Taiwan site, they don’t know how the shipping fee of the Taiwan site is calculated. Is the shipping fee of the Taiwan site of Shopee high?

The shipping cost of Shopee Taiwan Station is not very high.

How is it calculated?

As part of the most promising Southeast Asian market this year, Shopee Taiwan has attracted many people who want to get a piece of the pie. The logistics and shipping costs of the Taiwan site are different from those of other sites.

The logistics channel used by the Taiwan site is: YTO; every 500g/NTD, assuming the weight of your product is: 1.5kg, for general goods, it is: 0.5 times 70 + 1 times 30 = 65 New Taiwan dollars (14.2 yuan) for special goods, it is: 0.5 times 90 + 1 times 40 = 85 New Taiwan dollars (18.6 yuan). However, because Shopee will hide prices, the first weight of general goods is 70 New Taiwan dollars; the front desk defaults to 55 New Taiwan dollars, and a price of 15 New Taiwan dollars needs to be hidden. The first weight of special goods is 90 New Taiwan dollars; the front desk defaults to 60 New Taiwan dollars, and a price of 30 New Taiwan dollars needs to be hidden. The above is the shipping fee calculation method of Shopee Taiwan Station.

Why am I still charged for shipping even though I participated in Shopee's free shipping promotion?

There are two situations here:

a. Generally, free shipping activities have a threshold. For example, the Malaysia station offers free shipping for 19 RM. If you purchase goods over 19 RM, you can get free shipping. However!!! Free shipping only means getting a free shipping coupon to deduct the shipping fee. This free shipping coupon usually has a limit on the amount.

Take the Malaysia site as an example. If the weight of the product is below 800g, the general shipping fee is 5.2RM, which can be deducted directly using the free shipping coupon. If the shipping fee of this product is very high (for example, the shipping fee will be much higher if it is more than a few kilograms), the shipping fee is tens of RM, and your corresponding free shipping coupon cannot deduct so much. The remaining amount of the deduction is still the shipping fee that the buyer needs to pay.

b. The second situation is also very common, that is, the buyer does not use the free shipping coupon and directly places the order. In this case, there is naturally no free shipping.

In general, the shipping cost of Shopee Taiwan is not very high. When shipping, Taiwanese sellers should remember to check whether the packaging of the goods meets the requirements and ensure that the barcode on the delivery note is clear.
