Not everyone can get good traffic results from Xiaohongshu. Xiaohongshu is mainly in the form of pictures and texts. Although the threshold for creating pictures and texts is lower than that of short videos, this also brings more picture and text notes to Xiaohongshu. It is still a bit difficult to stand out among so many notes. Either understand the content or understand the rules and content level.

It’s hard for me to explain it clearly in a public account tweet, but the rules can be explained.

1. Let’s talk about the recommendation mechanism first

Many friends use the data performance of their notes as the only criterion to judge whether their notes are restricted by the platform. Yes, after the notes are restricted by the platform, it will be directly reflected in the number of small eyes, but it does not mean that as long as our note data is low, it must be restricted by the platform.

Here I would like to reiterate the recommendation mechanism of Xiaohongshu.

Xiaohongshu's algorithm recommendation process is as follows:

Release notes - Review - Inclusion - Tag classification - First round of recommendation testing - Greater exposure.

Based on this algorithm logic, as long as your notes pass the review and gain exposure, no matter how many eyes you get, they are considered to be recommended by the algorithm. However, the first wave of recommended traffic is small, probably because the title and header image content are not attractive enough to users, resulting in the algorithm's first wave of recommended traffic not being willing to open your notes.

Xiaohongshu will not limit the flow of normal notes. As long as your notes do not violate the rules, you will be given a basic exposure, and then the amount of reading and interaction of users on the notes will affect the subsequent exposure of your notes. This is the recommendation logic.

So the reason why your notes have poor traffic is that your users don't like your content at all, there is no other reason. Poor traffic is mostly due to poor content. Content that you think is good may not necessarily be good. It is only really good if your users think it is good. So instead of worrying about it, it is better to create content that is valuable to users.

2. How to judge whether the note is due to content quality or hidden flow restriction?

1. Look at the traffic share

In the Creator Service Center, you can see an analysis of the audience sources for each note, which is actually the traffic share of the note, including homepage recommendations (discovery page) , search (search page) , follow page (follow page) , personal homepage (open the homepage to follow after reading the note) , and other sources (topics, traffic coupons, etc.).

Under normal circumstances, the traffic share of home page recommendations should be the highest. If there is a certain fan base, the follow page will account for the second largest traffic share, and the third largest traffic share is search.

However, if you find that the proportion of homepage recommendation traffic has dropped sharply, or even there is no homepage recommendation, then there is a high probability that the traffic is restricted, as shown in the following figure:

2. Check the inclusion status

It is unreliable to determine the inclusion status by title and keywords. Search directly by account name. If the account notes do not appear on the comprehensive page, it is likely that the traffic has been restricted.

However, if notes appear, but the number of notes is small, it means that the traffic distribution is normal, but there happens to be a violation;

If multiple notes or all notes can appear, it proves that the account status and traffic distribution are very healthy.

3. Why is there invisible flow restriction?

Whether a note has good traffic depends on the quality of its content. The platform will not give traffic to a note with poor content for no reason. There is no black box operation, nor any hidden traffic entrance. As long as there is a way to get objective traffic, that is, your note is very attractive, so that many users click on it, stay for you, and interact with you, your note can bring value to the platform, and the platform will give you traffic.

The traffic of an account comes from the traffic performance of each note in the account. The publication of each note is like an exam. If you often fail the exam, it will be difficult for you to gain the trust of the platform and obtain natural traffic. In this case, it is easy to be implicitly restricted. You may not have done anything illegal and your notes may not contain any sensitive words, but you will not be allocated any traffic.

How to crack it? It's very simple, two ways

First: cherish every publishing opportunity, use extremely high content quality to get beautiful data in extremely low traffic distribution, provide value to the platform again, and break the shackles of traffic.
