Amazon opens Buy with Prime service to all merchants in the US

Amazon recently announced that it will open its Buy with Prime service to all merchants in the United States before January 31. The service allows online merchants outside its platform to use Amazon's payment and logistics.

It is understood that in April 2022, Amazon launched the "Buy with Prime" service for the first time, allowing Amazon Prime members to shop directly from third-party merchants' online stores and enjoy the experience they expect from Amazon, including fast, free delivery, seamless checkout experience, and free returns on eligible orders.

According to internal Amazon data, Buy with Prime has been shown to increase shopper conversions by an average of 25%. This data point measures the average increase in shoppers who placed an order when Buy with Prime was available versus when it was not available during the same time period.

Previously, Amazon only provided this service to merchants using Amazon Logistics on an invitation basis.

Amazon did not disclose how much merchants need to pay to use the "Buy with Prime" service, but Amazon said that the fees, including delivery and warehousing, will vary depending on the seller's inventory.

At the same time, Amazon also announced a new plug-in for the service that allows merchants to display reviews and ratings of products they list on Amazon on their own websites. This feature can help merchants improve shopper trust and conversion rates and better inform shoppers' purchasing decisions.

In addition, Amazon partner BigCommerce recently announced the launch of the Buy with Prime app for BigCommerce. This new self-service integration will help BigCommerce merchants enable Buy with Prime on their storefronts without coding.

It is worth mentioning that Amazon’s US, European and Japanese sites recently announced that Amazon has launched a new budget feature that will help sellers control discount percentages and spending on buy-one-get-one-free promotions.

When you create a new promotion, you need to set a budget for the total amount or order quantity before the promotion starts. Promotions with a budget will run at the set budget, and will be deleted when the promotion reaches 80% of its set budget value. The remaining 20% will be allocated to buyers who have applied for the promotion purchase.

Promotion budgets are for planning purposes only and any degree of overspending is expected. Amazon is not responsible for budget overspending. This new budget feature will not affect any ongoing promotions.
