What is Shopee transaction fee? How to calculate it?

According to regulations, merchants will charge a certain handling fee when an order is placed on the Shopee platform. However, some novice merchants are not clear about what the Shopee transaction fee is. Next, we will explain this aspect to you.

Shopee charges sellers a 2% transaction fee, which is actually a fee that needs to be paid to the transaction clearing service provider. Previously, this part of the fee has always been borne by Shopee.

Transaction fee standards:

1. The handling fee is 2%;

2. For completed orders (both cash on delivery and non-cash on delivery orders will be charged);

3. Charge a handling fee based on the order amount (including shipping costs paid by the buyer);

4. This handling fee is independent of the platform commission.

How to calculate?

1. Calculation of transaction fee: commodity transaction price × quantity × 2% = transaction fee (the amount is calculated to the nearest yuan, and any amount below yuan will be rounded off).

Shipping costs are not included in the calculation. However, if the shipping costs are already included in the transaction amount of the goods or the transaction method is free shipping, the transaction fee will still be calculated based on the transaction amount of the goods, and the actual shipping costs will no longer be deducted.

2. The maximum sales amount of a single item is NT$10,000 (i.e. the maximum transaction fee for a single item is NT$200). Note: The sales amount refers to the original price of the item minus the discount coupon set by the seller.

For example:

1. Product A is sold for $400, shipping fee is $60, and transaction fee is $400*2%=$8;

2. One item of product B, sold for $10,900, shipping cost $60, transaction fee is $10,000*2%=$200;

3. One item of product A + one item of product B, the sales amount is $11,300, and the shipping fee is $60, then the transaction fee is ($400*2%) + ($10,000*2%) = $208;

4. Two items of product B are sold for $21,800 and the shipping fee is $60. The transaction fee is ($10,000*2%)+($10,000*2%)=$400;

5. Two items of product C, each item costs $70, the sales amount is $140, and the shipping fee is $60. The transaction fee is ($70*2%) + ($70*2%) = $2.8, which is rounded to $3;

Well, today's sharing ends here. Now everyone should know the relevant content of Shopee transaction fees. In short, the Shopee platform charges a transaction fee, and it charges a 2% transaction fee!
