In fact, everyone should know that cross-border e-commerce is divided into many regions, and the Shopee platform is a Southeast Asian e-commerce platform. The platform’s commission rate has been adjusted recently. If sellers also want to know more about this, they should read this article carefully. In order to continue to provide better services to our sellers, starting from July 16, 2019, the commission rates of the Shopee platform will be adjusted as follows: (this adjustment is only for the commission rate, and the relevant commission calculation logic remains unchanged). 1. Shopee platform commission policy Orders subject to commission: (1) Transaction commissions are only charged for completed orders (the commission base does not include order shipping costs); (2) If the order is cancelled, no transaction commission will be charged; (3) The same seller will be exempt from the transaction commission of each site in the first three months of trading on the platform. Note: Shopee reserves the right of final interpretation and does not rule out adjustments to charging items and standards. The current version of the rate is applicable until the Shopee platform releases a new commission rate. 2. Calculation rules for the commission-free period for new sellers on the Shopee platform: Shopee provides a three-month commission-free period to new sellers who enter the platform for the first time. The commission-free period for new sellers on each site starts from the date the seller opens a store on the corresponding platform. Example: (1) Seller A opens a store on the Singapore site on July 1, so the store on the Singapore site will start to be charged commission on October 1; (2) Seller A opens a store in Malaysia on September 1st, so the store in Malaysia will start to be charged commission on December 1st. How much is the transaction fee? The Shopee platform began charging sellers a 2% transaction fee on January 1, 2019. This fee is actually a handling fee that needs to be paid to the transaction clearing service provider. Previously, this part of the fee has always been borne by Shopee. Transaction fee standards: (1) The handling fee is 2%; (2) For completed orders (both COD and non-COD orders will be charged); (3) Charge a handling fee based on the order amount (including shipping costs paid by the buyer); (4) This handling fee is independent of the platform commission. After seeing the relevant rules of commission on the cross-border e-commerce Shopee platform, merchants must have a general understanding of the policies in this regard. In addition, they also need to understand the transaction fees on the platform. This means that the merchants’ products can also be appropriately increased in price.
