Xiao Lei carefully experienced it for two days and found that the new version does have many conscientious updates and the detailed UI has also been improved.

1. Adjustment of the Mini Program Button UI

As everyone knows, there are two buttons in the upper right corner of the WeChat mini program interface, one is the function button and the other is the close button.

However, since the two buttons are too close and the button icons are not easy to understand, it is easy to click the wrong button sometimes.

The new version of WeChat adjusted the position of button icons. The close button was replaced with an easier-to-understand X and moved to the left.

The function buttons have also changed from being thin on the sides and thick in the middle to three small dots of equal size, which makes people with obsessive-compulsive disorder delighted.

2. Radio station UI adjustment

In the previous beta version, WeChat "Radio" was originally located to the right of the avatar/name.

In the new version 8.0.45, the radio station was renamed "Music Radio", and the icon became colorful, showing the specific number of listeners.

The icon has also been moved from the original right side to below the avatar/name, and now it looks more organized.

3. Added a new mini program recommendation switch

In the new version of WeChat, a new switch “Discover personalized recommendations for mini programs” has been added to the mini program personal center.

The specific path is: Discover in the WeChat bottom bar - Mini Programs - The little man icon in the upper right corner - Discover personalized recommendations for mini programs.

After turning on this function, WeChat will recommend mini-programs that we may be interested in based on the mini-program usage records.

4. Take a look at the Cancel Search button

In the old version of WeChat's "Look", there are two search methods: "Search Button" and "Search Box".

After actual testing, Xiao Lei found that the two entry points have exactly the same interface and the functions are exactly the same.

Therefore, the new version of WeChat has cancelled the search button, which can be regarded as merging similar items and deleting duplicate function entrances.

5. Audio player revision

Like the new iOS version, the new Android WeChat version 8.0.45 also makes a wave of function button adjustments for the audio player.

The original control area at the bottom of the audio player has the speed adjustment button on the far left and the timed shutdown button on the far right.

The new version of WeChat changed the speed adjustment button from a number to a "speed" text button and moved it to the middle of the progress bar.

The timed off button has been moved from the right side to the share menu. Now you have to click the share button to see the timed off button.

Xiao Lei still feels that it is more convenient to just click now. Friends who are used to the old layout will have to adapt to it again.

6. Adjustment of multi-person voice call interface

The new version of WeChat multi-person voice function has also undergone a wave of adjustments.

Now if we have connected other audio devices, we can click on the speaker in the call interface and choose to switch.

For example, when Xiaolei is connected to Bluetooth, you can switch to Bluetooth for answering calls. In addition, audio, speakers, etc. can also be switched to play.

This change is pretty good. Group chats can finally switch audio speakers seamlessly, just like individual chats!

Xiao Lei also noticed that when the new version of WeChat initiates a call, we click on the two overlapping rectangular icons in the upper left corner to display a floating window, and the ringtone will play at this time.

When you receive a call, the floating window will be reduced, the call will remain silent, and the ringtone will not play. The small details are handled very well.

7. Redesign of the Public Account Article Page

In the new version of WeChat, the official account article page has also undergone a wave of grayscale testing revisions.

In addition to the numbers displayed for "Viewing" and "Likes", the beta version also displays numbers for "Share" and "Comment".

On the beta version of the article page, the "Favorite" button at the bottom is removed, and you can only save by clicking the three-dot secondary menu in the upper right corner.

Unfortunately, Xiaolei's WeChat account has not entered the grayscale test, so we can only draw a soul painting, and everyone can use their imagination~

8. The interface for selecting files in the chat dialog box has been revised

Among the updates of the new Android version of WeChat, Xiao Lei’s favorite is the “revised interface for selecting files in the chat dialog box.”

To send files with the old version of WeChat, you need to switch between files in chats, favorites, mobile phone storage, and photo albums to search.

For someone like Xiao Lei who has a lot of photo files on his phone, it is very troublesome to find them, and it is even more inconvenient to switch back and forth.

Fortunately, the new version of WeChat has undergone a new wave of changes, and now each file directory tab is independently tiled at the top of the interface.

Although there are still those few file entries, the tiled approach greatly improves the efficiency of finding and selecting files.

Previously, you could only send one file at a time, but now you can select files across tabs, and it also supports sending multiple files at the same time.

The send button has been moved from the upper right corner of the old version to the lower right corner, which is more suitable for one-handed operation as mobile phone screens become larger and larger.

In addition, a search box button has been added to the upper right corner of the "Chat" and "Favorites" tabs, which can be used to search for related content.

In general, this wave of revisions has made great efforts to improve the convenience of finding and selecting files, and it deserves five-star praise!
