What does Shopee's delivery days mean? What are the requirements?

When operating a store on the Shopee platform, you need to find ways to expose your products to more users. At the same time, after a user places an order, you need to ship the goods as soon as possible. The platform has some requirements for your delivery time. So what does Shopee's delivery days mean?

DTS stands for Days To Ship, which is called delivery time or preparation time in Chinese.

Definition: The number of days (working days only) it takes for the order status to change from "To Ship" to "Shipping" after the buyer places an order.

For sellers outside Taiwan, the delivery time can be set to 2 working days or 5-10 working days;

Sellers on Taiwan and Brazil can choose to set the delivery time to 3 working days or 5-10 working days.

Note: Products with a delivery time of 5-10 working days will be defined as pre-sale products.

When the actual delivery time exceeds the target, your backend delivery days will turn red, reminding the seller that there may be a risk of late delivery.

However, you can see that the “Late Shipment Rate” is still green, which means it’s performing well, and there are no penalties for late shipments!

We care about the delivery time because we are afraid that we will be penalized or the order will be cancelled if it is overdue, which will affect the normal operation of the store!

Shopee's cross-border stocking time refers to the time from when the customer places an order and pays for the goods to when we ship to Shopee's warehouse. In Shopee, our stocking time can be set to 2 days and 7-30 days.

If our products are set for more than 7 days, they will be judged as pre-sale products. If the pre-sale products are too high, some of our products will be hidden, affecting our selection of stores. This will greatly affect the conversion rate.

It's like when you buy something on Taobao, it says it will be shipped in 7 days. Unless you have something that others don't, customers will generally give priority to the one with the shortest delivery time, so we need to change the stocking time of our products to two days.

Shopee uses a freight forwarder to deliver to the Shopee warehouse, which is faster than our own express delivery. We set the stocking time to 2 days, so our time is more valuable, so using a freight forwarder is the best choice. Shopee will regularly evaluate our late shipments.

Shopee delivery time FAQs:

1. Is it enough to just click ship within 2 days?

Shopee not only checks whether the seller has clicked the delivery button in the backend, but also checks whether the logistics information is updated. For example, if you choose to ship within 2 days, after the buyer places an order, if your order has not yet reached the Shopee warehouse to scan the logistics information successfully, then the platform will think that you have not shipped on time.

2. Are there any penalties for delayed delivery on Shopee?

If only one or two orders are delayed, sellers do not need to worry too much; Shopee delayed shipments are mainly based on the store's delayed order rate. Delayed shipment rate = number of delayed orders/total number of shipped orders, calculated every 30 days; if it is greater than 5%, then it will be scored and will not be eligible for the selection of preferred sellers.

3. Is it better to set the delivery time to more than 7 days?

No! Shopee has a pre-sale product ratio review for ordinary sellers. For example, for an Indonesian seller, if the number of pre-sale products exceeds 100 (including 100) and the pre-sale product ratio is higher than a certain standard, then the store can only list 500 products.

Moreover, if the proportion of pre-paid goods is higher than a certain standard, a penalty of 1 point will be incurred; and it will also have a relatively large impact on the conversion rate of the store, so everyone should set it up carefully!

If you want your products to be shipped in a timely manner and arrive at the airport, you must choose a warehouse that suits you and is close to you, so that your product transportation will be more advantageous.

If the late delivery rate is too high, one point will be deducted, and if it is very serious, two points will be deducted. You may think that this deduction is not very high, but Shopee is based on quarterly, 15 points per quarter, and if all the points are deducted, the store will be closed directly. If the deduction reaches 6 points, our store traffic will definitely decrease, and similarly, the number of orders will definitely decrease.
