Paypal is a common credit card payment method for merchants doing cross-border e-commerce business. It can be used to pay, receive payments, and transfer money to others. Some merchants asked, is the PayPal fee high?

1. How is the PayPal fee charged?

When using PayPal to pay, the money will be directly deducted from the card, and the PayPal platform will not charge any handling fees. However, if you receive payment through the PayPal platform, you will need to pay a certain percentage of the handling fee to PayPal, as follows:

1. Standard handling fee

For transactions of $3,000 or less, PayPal charges: 4.4% + $0.30

3,000 to 10,000 USD, PayPal charges: 3.9% + 0.30 USD

10,000 to 100,000 USD, PayPal charges: 3.7% + 0.30 USD

For amounts above 100,000 USD, PayPal charges: 3.4% + 0.30 USD

2. Currency conversion fee

PayPal supports the exchange of multiple currencies. When users collect, withdraw or transfer money, if it involves the exchange of different currencies, PayPal will charge: the current exchange rate plus 2.5% currency exchange fee

3. Withdrawal Fee

Telegraphic transfer to a bank account in mainland China, the withdrawal currency is US dollars, and a handling fee of US$35 is charged for each transaction.

Withdraw to a bank account in Hong Kong in Hong Kong Dollar. Withdrawal is free for amounts above HKD 1,000; a handling fee of HKD 3.50 will be charged for each withdrawal below HKD 1,000.

Withdraw to a U.S. bank account in USD, with a handling fee of USD 35 per transaction.

For withdrawals via check, the withdrawal currency is US dollars and a handling fee of US$5 is charged for each transaction.

2. PayPal transfer to relatives and friends

1. Visit PayPal official website and register or log in to your personal account

2. Link a credit card, debit card or bank account

3. Go to the "Payment/Request Payment" page

4. Enter the recipient's email address and click "Next"

5. Choose your payment method: PayPal balance, credit card, debit card or bank account

6. Enter the amount and select the currency, and choose to use the exchange rate of the card issuer or PayPal

7. Check the payment details and click "Pay Now"

8. The recipient will receive an email notification. If they do not have a PayPal account, they can register an account to receive your payment.

9. If the recipient refuses the payment or does not receive the payment within 30 days, the payment will be refunded in full.

In general, PayPal's fees are high. PayPal's current usage and popularity rates are still maintaining a high growth trend, and basically no other payment method can compete with it.
